Quantaince down to 2

Shouldn't we get at least one seven footer back to go with Cyril at the 5? To me getting Richmond and Edgecombe is the key to the class. Would love to have Quantainance though.

I have a feeling Onyenso is not going to be 100% this season and may redshirt or get limited play. So I feel like he might be back and paired with Cyril at the 5.

Quaintance and Thiero at the 4.

Like to get Knox at the 3. Richmond and Hart backing him up.

Sheppard, Fland, and Perry at guard.

Maybe a reclassed Peterson or Jasper Johnson as well.

We could be really stacked next season, especially at guard (again).

To me the key is getting Shep back. I think he’s an All-American next year, if he stays. And I think he will. Parents value education and aren’t desperate for an NBA payday.

Be a damn shame if he chooses Missouri over us. Cal would have some explaining to do unless the player did it for him. You can’t lose these kinds of guys to teams like Missouri. Period.

Is there any Kentucky buzz, the last thing I saw was Kyle Tucker saying a lot of Mizzou buzz
I truly think with Beisner gone, no one in the media has any feel with what info’s out now. Boogie didn’t leak til a few days before, and no one knew about Perry. I got a feeling it’s Kentucky.

Not to mention, Cal loves getting a guy to commit near champions classic. I know it’s Wednesday, but all eyes will be on college basketball Tuesday night.

Somebody pointed out that Kentucky hasn’t officially announced their fall signing class which closes Thursday or Friday, that’s interesting

The signing will be positive after the negative outcome on the court Tuesday. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm so out of the loop on basketball recruiting. Trying to shift gears from baseball and football season and playing catch up on these guys we're after.

Can anyone tell if this kid has good hands? His footwork looks good, but it's hard to tell with just highlights, and will this kid have 2 years collegiately before he can go pro?

The only thing that worries me is that from what I understand, Mizzou has stepped up their NIL recently. Having said that, we had the last visit. I like our chances.

Critical recruit for Calipari and UK. Based on what his dad said after visit, it would seem to be UK.

But I believe his dad and Missouri coach have a very close relationship.. and his dad said since he will only be 16 when starting college, the city and coaching staff "looking after him" is very important.
16? does this mean we will have him for at least 2-3 years before he's eligible for the NBA draft?

I have gotten the impression that Richmond is who we like at the 3 position over all others. Don't know about Knox. Just from reading I get the feeling we could very well get Richmond.
According to Rivals(I know lol), we are the favorite for Knox and the overwhelming favorite for Richmond.

If we take Richmond, I really worry about this class to be honest.

That is 3 guys who are a bit more lowly rated (Somto, Perry and Richmond), and Boogie Fland, while very good, is not the "top end" talent like we have seen in the past. Even with getting Quantaince, 4 of our 5 incoming freshman wouldn't be considered "game changers"- seems like it could be setting us up for another year where we just don't have that top-end talent to truly compete, like we have seen the last couple of years.

These freshman would also realistically discourage some transfers from wanting to come here, as opposing coaches will sell them on the "Cal will prioritize his Freshman" thing.

Worried about next season to be honest.

We need Quaintance, Edgecomb or Knox, and have to hope and pray for a Darryn Peterson reclass, and then go get 2-3 top transfers in the portal (can Cal do it?).

Lots of question marks for next season, and IMO I am not sure that Perry and Richmond really see much playing time next season, or if they do see a lot, we might be in trouble.

Maybe I am wrong on Richmond and Perry, but I am just not as impressed with their games, and honestly not overly impressed with Boogie Fland compared to some of the guards we have had either.
