Punishing kids who had nothing to do with it...

Love they way these virtue signalers throw the word "kids" around. Ironically it was a kid, 17 year old Blakeney who DIDN'T get punished because he hit the door and spilled the beans. U6 is lucky they didn't get more than they got.

What Seth failed to understand is, these were impermissible benefits given to recruits, who then played games, therefore they were ineligible, hence the games had to be vacated. Seth, this is how it's done. It may not be "fair" to players or fans, but it's the NCAA's way of sending a message that if you break the rules, you pay the price. Been like that for years. Seth, I don't hear you calling the NCAA out for what happened to UMASS, or Memphis. Come on, man!

What is with this country's current mindset that things are supposed to be fair? News flash, you die. That's not fair. You had no choice to be born, that's not fair. You couldn't pick your parents. That's not fair. Rich kids get into Yale regardless of grades. That's not fair. In the Middle East you lose your head for being Christian. That's not fair. I can't hand pick my president. That's not fair.

Some dudes were born with extreme talents. That's not fair. Some dudes have hot moms who breast feed until they're 6 years old. Not fair.

Life is not fair.

We have a large segment of this population that simply doesn't get it. Try to make it fair, it becomes even more unfair. Many examples.

Those players rolled the dice with Louisville and they should pay. If they didn't know, Louisville did. Those players represent the school and team, not themselves.

Or us back in the late '80's.

Total BS. Those players made a conscious decision to go there. They can leave anytime they like. This punishment is targeted at a school that used hookers to influence teens. End of story. Justice has been done on them.

Yea the unforgettables really didn't have nothing to do with what happened to them either but they were punished too. I don't think anybody felt sorry for them.

I've noticed a disturbing trend on the coverage of the whore scandal. Most of these talking heads seem to be blaming the NCAA, kind of mocking the vacating of games, as if this is some new concept. I'm chalking it up to ESPN's ACC wagon circling/homerism. The title is gonzo, bitches, get used to it.

Speaking as a long time fan who was around when the Emery incident happened, I must have missed the love and empathy that Louisville, UNCheat, and the rest of the motley crew seem to get these days, That $1000 seems like incidental pocket change compared to 18 years of fraudulent classes, five years of strippers and escorts (that'd be a lot of ones :) ) but we were crucified. Crucified, I don't think I heard one sportscaster say "well, it's a shame that the innocent kids were punished, too"

Every person intimately connected to the program during the "ho's period" - players, managers, asst. coaches, etc. - are partly to blame as everyone one of them would have at least heard about them just from incidental eavesdropping. Are we to believe that Chane never once mentioned the parties in the locker room?

They all knew and if at least one of them, just one single one, had let Rick know then he would have immediately stopped all of it. Just one!

Once again i am surprised by ESPN's take/spin on this. While i still think UL's sins pale in comparison to those of UNC they were still wrong.ESPN seems to be saying it was no big deal, you cant't change what happened on the court. It is a load of crap,if this doesn't matter then what the hell does matter.

If the vag-hat brigade had camped out on Floyd Street these talking heads would have been speaking in hushed tones about how this is totally unacceptable behavior and that UL should get the death penalty. Frankly after slick held a press conference saying Katina couldn't "string 2 sentences together" I'm surprised they avoided it.

The media just needs to answer a simple question, and someone needs to raise it.

If an underage kid who felt pressured to have a sex act on their campus, received a life threatening STD (AIDS), would they be singing this tune? Louisville put a lot of people at risk, and that's just a fact.

Those players knew it was happening and could have done the right thing and spoken up to the president and Pitino. They could have tried to be a leader and clean up their team. Everyone of them had that ability and chose to either ignore or participate.

It doesn't matter anyway, this is how the system works. The players represent the program and University, they sink or swim with it. Next time pay attention to life choices, they have real consequences.

They've been dirty going back the Crum days. What about the drugs? What about the cars for Cards? FFS, they had a cheerleader overdose in a football players apartment and swept it under the rug!

They are P'sOS and deserve worse than they got. Any player who went there after this went public took a gamble. Sometimes you lose.

These “kids” had four years to notify someone about the illegal activity in their dorms, but didn’t. It’s on them now.

What Seth and the other talking heads don't get is that kids were cheated, kids on the other teams who didn't cheat! One of those teams could have taken their children to their home arena and pointed to banner. No way U6 wins without those players.

he and jay both sounded like idiots, I decided to listen to some "analysis" on a high from our win and I feel dumber for the experience

Perfectly stated!

This above is an excellent post that perhaps some forget because it was years ago now. UL should have post season bans for several years similar to what Madabout is mentioning. They skated on that. So, the current players are actually not being punished.
