Post-Georgetown Starting 5

Mitchell
Thiero
Reeves
Sheppard
Dillingham
Agree that is our most explosive lineup.

But I like Dillingham off the bench as a sparkplug. It’s hard to match his energy from an opposition standpoint when your best guards are hitting that point that they could use a breather and then you have a starter quality lightning bolt that comes in for the other team…do you leave your fatigued starter in to match talent or do you roll the dice that your backup can keep up and check a future NBA PG that is lightning quick?

Reed is the steadiest and most consistent player on the team as a complete player on both ends. I like him balancing out RD’s chaos inducing style. They mesh well stylistically.

I respectively disagree. I love his aggression. We will need that in March.
Meh....Hes going 110, when he only needs to go 70. He makes some plays, harder than what they should be,.

let your talent do the work.

Once he adjust, understands how to use that speed, aggression, kid is gonna be a problem. Right now, his aggression gets you beat by good D1 teams. Needs to harness that---control it. He'll get there.

Wagner to talented to dump after one exhibition game. You start him until you cannot. Vs Gtown isnt a game that should make that decision.
I missed half of the first half of the Georgetown game, so not sure who all started, but when i did pick up watching, I saw standard first exhibition MO from Cal of rotating players in and out every two minutes, tinkering with all sorts of lineup combinations. It's what typically makes some of these exhibitions a stupid nailbiter for the first 2/3 of it.

I'm glad Dillingham played well. He was underwhelming in Canada.

Mitchell has to start and Reeves have to start. They have been overall our best players through our preseason matchup so far.

Wagner and Edwards will be in the lineup.

The last spot is up in the air. Thiero has been solid. Cal would consider one of our bigs if they are available.

Wagner
Edwards
Reeves
Mitchell
Big

Wagner
Edwards
Reeves
Theiro
Mitchell

Those are the two most likely scenarios.

I think Dillingham off the bench as the 6th man is the perfect fit for him. Will get starters minutes but can see how the game is flowing. Wag, Reeves, Edwards, Theiro and Mitchell. Then Dilly, Shep and Burkes off the bench. 8 guys till we get a big available (if one ever gets available).

Right now, with no bigs, everyone is going to get plenty of minutes.

I figure the top 7 are getting close to 30 minutes a game each.

That looks to be:

1. Wagner
2. Dillingham
3. Sheppard
4. Reeves
5. Edwards
6. Thiero
7. Mitchell

Burks probably gets a good amount as well until we get at least one of the 7 footers going.

Hart probably doesn’t play much since we are loaded at guard.
