If we lose all remaining games, we’re probably a 5-6 seed. A deep run in the SEC Tournament (SECT) could push us to a low 4 or high 5 seed.

If we only beat LSU, we’re probably a 4 seed, even if we win just one or zero games in the SECT. A deep SECT run could boost us to a 3 seed.

If we beat LSU and win one of the games against Auburn or @ Mizzou, we lock up a 3 seed. A deep SECT run could push us to a 2 seed.

If we win all remaining games, we’ll be a high 3 seed or low 2 seed. A deep SECT run could secure a 2 seed, but our ceiling is a 2 seed—there’s no chance of a 1 seed with nine losses already.

See I have to disagree, the Saturday rankings and the bracket guys all have us much higher,

I don't rule out the possibility of getting a 3 seed just by beating LSU

yes, it could happen

but a 4 seed is more likely.

I think that would be difficult mainly because that would put us around the 9 or 10 seed in the SEC tournament vs a Quad 2 South Carolina or LSU. And losing that would probably knock us off that 3 seed line. In that scenario (going 1-2 in our last 3 regular season games with LSU as the win) I think you have to win the first SEC tournament game.

Beat LSU and get one more game your the highest 4 or the lowest 3. Beat LSU, Auburn and get a game or two at the SEC tourney and then I think your a higher 3 seed

All I know is they will have us playing Arkansas, Louisville and St John s to get to final four.
And the refs in all of our games will be Pat Adams , Oglesby, and Orlando’s Poole

If we win 2 more games between now and the NCAA tournament(including SEC Tourney), we are no worse than a four seed. They are not going to move teams around a ton from here on out. A seed line here or there. The caveat would be losing to LSU at home. That could drop us more than a seed line.
There will be so many SEC schools in the field that teams could get pushed down a seed line for matchups in the early rounds.

Our resume is too good for Quad 1 losses to drag us down.

Only regular season loss that could pull us down is LSU.

We beat LSU, we should still be in the 3 seed conversation.

At worst, we will be 9-10 in Quad 1 games at the end of the regular season. That’s nearly 2/3 of our games being against Quad 1 competition.

Then all the SEC tourney games should be Quad 1 or 2 games.

I think even if we lost out, we would still be a 4 seed. 5 seed at the worst.

And that’s with several other teams going on a tear and passing us up.

One team might. Two teams might. But all the teams in that 4-5 seed range passing us up is unlikely.

Take care of business against LSU. Win a game in the SEC tourney, and probably end up a 3, IMHO.

Our resume is very strong. A team would have to go on a major tear to pass us up.

And most of the other teams in the projected 3-4 seed range are likely to have their ups and downs as well.

3 seed is the lowest that we should get. If we win out and the SECT, we will be a solid 2 seed.

I think a 2 is more likely than a 4 at this point, though it is pretty close.

Assume you beat LSU and win the first game of the SEC tournament, that puts us about 85% likely for a 3 seed as it puts you at 10 quad 1 wins (first SEC tournament game will be quad 1 unless south carolina or LSU pulls an upset)

If we win any one of the Auburn, Missouri, and quarterfinal game of the SEC tournament, we are right on the border for a 2 with 11 quad 1 wins. If we get 2 of those games I think we are close to a lock for a 2 seed at 12 quad 1 wins

I think a 2 is the absolute ceiling. The top 6 all have such strong resume's, unless someone just loses 4 straight, we're not going to pass them.

If we win out, we'd almost assuredly be a 2.
If we win 10 or 11 more games, we are National Champions. Why not state a FACT and then all the guessing and predicting can stop because none of us have a clue what we can or will do going forward. We can hope but to give what if's is a waste of energy and sets you up for disappointments.

Then don't respond to the thread, it's that simple. Move along, we don't want to hear your bitching either

Hey man, it sounds like you don't enjoy this conversation. I have great news for you. You don't have to paricipate. You don't even have to enter the thread.

I do enjoy the conversation. I would like to participate in it. So I'm going to continue to do so.

Yes we have 9 quad 1 wins which is great. But only 1-1 in quad 2 and 10-9 when combining quads 1 and 2(which the committee loves to do for some reason). All the 1, 2, and 3 seeds have more wins in those categories besides St John's. And all have a better quad 1,2 record than us. We need to won 2 of the last 3 then win 2 more in the SecT to lock in a 3.
