sam,

Ukraine went balls deep on private land seizures after the Soviet Union broke up. LOL What are you talking about? It was ranked as one of the worlds' most corrupt countries. 🤣
Well according to DOGE we are the most corrupt country in the world.
Do we deserve to be invaded by Russia too?
They already control our government right now.

Still nominally a Cardinal fan, but I pretty much quit baseball (at least MLB) altogether after Rob Manfred yanked the All-Star Game away from Atlanta and moved it Denver after Georgia signed election integrity measures into law. For what it's worth, I find that I really haven't missed MLB all that much.
Got you beat by a few years (decades). I lost interest after the strike....mid 90s. Was a huge fan before. Growing up going to Reds games and then later after moving to Atlanta going to Braves games. Knew a couple of Braves players, and had an ex-player who worked for me. Heard a lot of stories about Ted Turner, etc. Had a visit at the office one day from Chief Noc-a-Homa. He was good friends of the guy that worked for me so he came by in full costume. Employees loved it.
Like you....don't miss it. Neither do I miss the NFL or NBA. Was huge fans of all but watch no more.

Art Berman is a (former) petroleum geologist who now provides consulting services to energy companies and other entities. He puts out these blog posts once or twice a week. Often he just dives into the weeds of data regarding oil and gas inventories, effect on prices, etc.; but sometimes he goes on a philosophical rant like he does here.

He's a bit of a contrarian, one who recognizes the need and value of fossil-based energy, but also recognizes the need for better environmental stewardship. He's definitely not a Trump fanboy by any stretch, but he gives Trump a lot of props for his recognition of the importance of oil and gas as a lever of economic and geopolitical power.

Enjoy....

I am old enough to have seen Stan The Man play at the old Sportsman's Park with the huge screen in right field that robbed Stan of a bunch of homers.

The crazy part about the seed oils in burger and steak places is the fact these places should be swimming in tallow. Were they literally throwing it out so they could use poisonous seed oils? Even financially, that makes zero sense.
Burger joints. nah. There's not enough grease put off by frying the burgers to merit containing it, then going through the process of cleaning it in house. There's not enough produced by the meat to come close to being a fraction of what's needed for the fryers. Now if you're talking about at the commissary level and in the processing portion, maybe that would work for a barbecue chain that's routinely trimming fat from various cuts of meat, that could be rendered into tallow, but most ground beef products that burger joints use, most of that's just getting ground up into the burger.

I hope Kash is tearing some new @ssholes today at the Bureau.

This is clearly Patel's first big test. Every FBI director before him would protect the institution right now. Keep past misdeeds by the bureau hidden and secret, cause obviously if the NY field office isn't helping...they are hiding/possibly destroying or long ago destroyed anything that would implicate the FBI in any past wrongdoing. Also, protecting rich and powerful people outside the FBI.

And every past director would protect those agents in New York withholding/obstructing.

Patel can be like his predecessors or he can be what he promised he would be. Something completely new and different.

Too bad Steak n Shake is a struggling chain. Evansville had at least two locations and they both closed during the pandemic. One has since been converted to a Culver's restaurant, the other is still sitting there with the SnS signage, just rotting away.
A whole lot of them closed at one point. it wasn't even Covid that caused it really either. They had some bad management for a while. They shuttered all of the stores in Louisville, sold off some of them then used Covid to retool their operations. They reopened the few they didn't sell and did away with the wait table service. They now have Kiosks and a number system.

These are the type of exchanges that should happen, not scripted bullsh-t. I like how Trump says 'I have an idea, we have the man right here.'

Vance says this with the UK prime minister present.

Vance: "I said what I said!"

"We know that there have been infringements on free speech that actually affect not just the British, but also affect American technology companies and by extension American citizens."

Prime Minister Starmer: "We've had speech for a very, very long time in the United Kingdom."

Vance:

Mike Johnson got the call from T and flipped on it instantly.
The terms were bipartisian agreed and nothing was hidden, the details got nickpicked post mortem to try and hide the fact T didn't want improvement on the situation.
He wanted to campaign on it still being a mess.
"America first unless it impacts my election prospects"
How about you do a breakdown of the bill and all of it's positive attributes for us? And how it would have been better than what Trump is doing now even. Do you think people should just be able to waltz right in across our borders or do you think they should go through the legal and proper channels for coming here?

misinformation is a huge challenge. Some call it the post truth era.

I've certainly caught myself following viewpoints that ended up being wrong, I tend to scroll through the different fact check services as an initial baseline truth check on outrageous issues. A challenge their is fact checkers face an endless onslaught and by the time real research can be done on a topic the outrrage farmers have moved onto the next lies deployed to keep people pissed.

Majority of issues are a gradients of grey and not black and white, where it takes time and effort to understnad the nuance and then its still not a silver bullet choice.

Meanwhile we've all fried our brains attention span, all retreated to the corners of our own echo chambers for news sources, seen a huge uptick in in foreign influence in cultural wars online.

Agree we need to counter pharma and other big money influence. I think we are one of 2 countries in the world that allow pharmaceutical advertisements over the airwaves.
When you scroll through the "fact Check" services, do you bother to check out their funding pages to see who lines their pockets? Do you ever go into those types of deep dives?

30 to 50 shots? That can't be correct, can it?

Over/around 30 doses by 19M. Dtap and mmr are 3in 1 with multiple rounds. They were wanting to increase the school age schedule to 70 something.

Edit- 25 was incorrect. It's closer to 30 or more on the childhood shot schedule AND that doesn't include yearly flu or covid "updates"

The measles vaccine was first introduced in 1963. In 1978, the United States recommended that all children receive two doses of the vaccine. In 1989, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended that all states require measles vaccination for school entry. By 1998, all 50 states had implemented this requirement.

Now look at the number of measles cases in the US pre 1998 and post 1998 once the measles vaccine was required by schools..... Then tell me vaccines don't work.
Trump didn't cause the measles outbreak but his dumbazz RFK is part of the wave of vax deniers that will lead to more cases and deaths like we are seeing now.

sigh... it's not necessarily about the efficacy of vaccinations (although the COVID vaccine was a colossal failure), it's about individual liberty. IOW - the freedom to choose whether or not you want to take or NOT take a vaccine. It's about not being forced to choose between your ****ing job and a shot. How could ANYONE in their right mind be against that? If they're so effective then what the hell difference does it make if someone chooses not to GET the f***ing thing?

The fact that the left drones on about my body, my choice ad nauseum, juxtaposed with how bent out of shape they got over vaccines only proves my point: The Left is Inherently Fascist

Where do you think the plane was going?? 🤣🤣🤣
He was on Fantasy Island too or it would have been released.
The fbi would've released if he was on there before epstein "committed suicide" ...thats logical.

Just like the press has spent all of its resources to desperately find him saying the n word somewhere in history. If these ppl will sick as low as very fine ppl, and everything else...they'd already be running stories on this true or not

Why does this have to be said over and over? It’s like they are not paying attention…on purpose.

Giving these binders for little photo opps are bullshit. RELEASE THEM TO WIKILEAKS who will then make it easily searchable like they did the DNC leaks so the public can comb everything themselves.

So tired of this shit. And a big F U to the entire left wing press who didn't give a single shit to demand and harass the release of information of powerful people and celebs who are pedophiles. You can't pull your little "Speak truth to power" theater by mouthing off to Trump and then just let a massive pedophile ring go by the wasteside.

That should tell you everything you need to know about our press and the public in general. We had foreign agent operative (no doubt) who was doing honeypot shit for famous people and world leaders/politicians they were sex trafficiking to and then gets killed in prison and no one cares to spend all day, every day on unearthing this?

EFF THIS ENTIRE GOVERNMENT, THIS ENTIRE SYSTEM

How deed did the censorship state run? How about video game lore writers and match dot com.

Lmao they literally controlled everything.

I assumed they had plenty of it. Thanks for correcting me.

Opened a new one in Jessamine County post covid. Their kiosks sucked though. Couldn't get our order right at all. Staff couldn't help us with it. Good was good though

So tired of this shit.

You can tell the difference in moral and legal ethics. This administration is waiting till they have it all squared away.

On the other hand, dems just conveniently "leak" it to their allies in msm.
