We aren’t at an actual impasse. Just a fictional one you’re creating. You’re living in a fictional world. The R presidential candidate had said he would not sign federal legislation on abortion. There’s no chance anything would get through Congress. It’s a nonissue.

It’s not “deflecting” to point out you’re outraging yourself over a fictional position you’ve attributed to Trump.

“Leave it to the states” rhetoric emerged because SCOTUS rightfully tossed Roe as legal nonsense, and the abortion issue now resides with the states.
Complete bull. If Congress set aside their differences, came together and compromised on some like 15-week restriction with exceptions for rape and medical issues, getting bipartisan support enough to pass the filibuster, you’re telling me Donald Trump would veto it to ‘leave it to the states’? Bullshit. You know that. Trump would sign anything Rs put in front of him on this and veto anything Ds do, just like any other partisan. This issue is the exact same as any other issue, we fight over it constantly and either side who thinks they can get something through will try it.

I know this is simply a one off example, but my street had a developer build about 20 houses off of a side street a year or so ago. I have seen many “Open House “ signs at the entrance, and I’ve driven down the new street and did not see even one of these homes appear to be lived in. Just this week, for the first time, I noticed the For Sale sign has been switched out for a For Rent sign.

In addition, I found out this same developer purchased land adjacent to my home further down the street. This spring he began the ground work to start this new development. Since the initial flurry of work months ago I have not witnessed another finger being lifted to proceed.

I’m obviously no real estate mogul, but I would imagine the last thing a developer wants to do is rent out a ton of brand new homes he can’t sell while preparing to build even more.

Have you checked Zillow or public records to see is they were sold before being put up for rent?

Breaking: Trump to campaign tonight with Moms for Liberty, a group specializing in book bans.
Yea you are right. We all support G schools having books in the library teaching 10yo kids how to give BJs to their fellow 5th graders.

You should continue to run on that issue. Oh let's. not forget your support of the "men can have a baby" narrative.

Of course you do. You keep bringing up this 10 and 12 year old rape victim BS as it is the norm for abortion when in fact it is an extremely very small percentage of abortion cases. The right would gladly give you this as an exception if you would quit advocating for inconvenience abortions and calling it healthcare.

According to a study by the Guttmacher Institute, only 1% of women said rape was the reason they wanted an abortion., and only 0.5% said incest was the reason. If I remember correctly, around 75% of women said they wanted an abortion either because a baby interfered with their schooling/work or they just felt like they didn't have the time or finances to take care of a baby.

With interest rates and Bidenflation ravaging the land, renting them out to generate cash flow is a really good idea. They are not cars that lose value when you drive them off the lot. If you can get 3K a month for a short term renter then do it until you find a buyer.

Obviously it depends on the size of the homes but rent, rent to own, or owner financing are all good strategies. When 45/47 wins things will improve.

Trump is in a terrible position stuck between the extreme wing of pro lifers and his need to distance from them. A huge segment of abortion voters only vote Republican based on a single issue.
As I posted earlier, Pub voters are absolutists. Don't back their key issue & they go home. Dims don't much GAS as long as the candidate makes them feel good. Hell, many MAGA said they'd stay home if Trump wasn't the candidate.

Exactly the things my realtor has talked about for my property.

I'd be curious to hear everyone else's line of work and the layoffs. Again, feels like we're just tettering on that cliff. If we lose say, another 500k jobs between now and the end of the year, is that enough to do it. Seems like we can't lose that much more. On TOP of the dollar value these days already pinching more and more house holds
Bureau of Labor Statistics, July 2024 vs. May 2024:

"Household Survey Data: The unemployment rate rose by 0.2 percentage point to 4.3 percent in July, and the number of unemployed people increased by 352,000 to 7.2 million. These measures are higher than a year earlier, when the jobless rate was 3.5 percent, and the number of unemployed people was 5.9 million."

So
1. NPR
2. Because federal law prohibits Army employees from being involved with any political campaign, the staff at the cemetery did not deal directly with the Trump campaign about his visit there.
3. "was abruptly pushed aside," but chose not to press charges.
4. Nothing actually done by Trump himself.

Man if I had the time, which even if I was on a deserted Island all by myself with internet access I still would choose to do something else, I would go back a month and look at all the links you posted claiming that Biden was sharp as a tack.

I will continue to post TDS after your TDS posts.
Like I said, just trying to help.

He's trying to shine the spotlight away from all the despicable things his side is doing. They all do that. They still use J6 to pivot away from the summer of destruction.

Imagine what type of grub worm you'd have to be to give Kamala and Joe a pass for not being there. Oh that's right, they weren't invited because those kids died on their watch.

Liberals are worthless, loathsome filth.

Kamala's team is so desperate to have the live mic so she can say 'I'm speaking here' and look like the strong woman shutting Trump up.

Or more likely they are looking for any excuse get out of the debate.

It's really quite astounding. Never in my life would I have imagined there would be so much drama over the functionality of a damn microphone, but the Dems have delivered it in spades.

First the Dems insisted the microphones be muted for the Biden/Trump debate. Trump agreed to this and all of their other demands without any contest. Biden got annihilated.

Now we have the next debate pending, to which Trump also agreed to muted microphones without any contest. But now the Dems are desperate to unmute the microphones.

If Trump were smart, he would start out the next debate by outlining all of the challenges facing this country, and the world, and then make the point that Kamala's main concern has only been about the damn microphones.

Movie comes out in October. Trump campaign says it is defamation, that much in it has been disproved and Trump intends to sue. Going to be a wild October this year. Hollywood thinking they can make a difference is dumb though.

Wouldn't be able to make a movie about the rise of Kamala Harris. That would just be porn set in Willie Brown's office.

I think he does better with a muted mic. He does more time thinking of what he's going to say. Kamala obviously wants to bait him into outburts while she stays calm.

There have been lots of layoffs the last 2 years.

Saw yesterday where Goldman is laying off 1,300.

What type of workers do you think those are
I can help answer that: I work for Goldman's main competitor... those losing jobs are mainly (but not all) M and A people (Mergers and Aquisitions). Its a super cyclical business and just one more indicator of weakness in the economy.

Goldman laid off 3200 in 2022.

I’m sure this had no impact . . .

Kamala needs the debate more than Trump now. He can tell her to pound sand on her demands.

Was kind of thinking the same thing. I almost wonder if Trump shouldn't just say "you know what, you need this more than me" and demand more of the debate to be on his terms.

Here we are, what, a month later? And she hasn't said anything really. Aside from copying the same rally speech she had a few places.

This is straight up comedy coming from the candidate who can’t even do a live interview with one of her best friends? She is asking for transparency yet had her 42 minute pre planned and recorded “interview” edited down to 18 minutes. What a ****ing joke!!! I wish I could debate this bitch!!!

Certainly but I would be all for Trump agreeing to the live mic but refrain from giving them what they want which is his disruption. I know Trump struggles with controlling himself but there’s too much at stake here, just let her have the time to speak given to her by the moderators as that would do more damage than anything Trump could say while interrupting. .

Quite the drift from why the EV totals for Reagan & Trump are so different. But whatever floats your boat.
California was not a predominantly Hispanic state in 1984. The moving left of the United States coincides with the mass immigration. I don't know how that can even be argued.

I guess I'll get called racist but go watch American Graffiti, and do you think it looks like that today?

What the hell is with this party always looking for some edge or way to cheat. Just debate the way its supposed to be done. One on CNN, one on FOX. No gimmicks, no trying to rig the microphones.

It's always something. Like "oh we need to close the blinds on the voting center, but we're certainly not cheating". or "voter ID shouldnt be a requirement".

I swear democrats are like your kid brother always wanting to be the banker in a game of Monolopy, when the whole family knows he's just trying to cheat.

Mikey, we all can see you stealing the $500s. And put the hotels back..
