Medical insurance through an employer is generally part of that employees benefit or pay plan.
If we get Medicare for all, won’t employees be losing part of their pay from an employer, and we all know that our taxes will go up, probably significantly. Not to even mention the healthcare will likely be less quality.
So why would I as a middle class, average joe want that?

With healthcare afforded to every citizen it's removed from the employer's bag of incentives giving workers more bargaining power. If everyone already has healthcare and you don't need it from your employer to live they will have to offer other benefits to compete for employees in the marketplace, i.e. better pay, more vacation time, extended maternity leave, yada yada. This is a large reason why Europeans have more paid leave than us, healthcare is not tied to employment.

You’re describing exactly what is in place now, only I won’t be losing benefits and take home pay.
So again, why would I want what you’re describing, with worse healthcare?

you are an idiot for believing anything you just posted. health insurance doesn't mean healthcare. all govt health insurance means is they are now collecting the premiums aka taxes. actually getting healthcare means running through endliess lines of bureaucratic red tape hoping you qualify. good luck with that

This is maybe the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen posted here. That’s saying a lot. And I agree with you that single payer isn’t the answer. Your anecdotal comment about Medicare paying less and hospitals and doctors going out of business in such a case is ridiculous and moronic. Anyone with even the most rudimentary grasp on how providers bill payers would know that your comment is unfounded and, frankly, moronic.
Medicare does reimburse less than private insurance to providers. It also denies more claims. It also doesnt cover medication unless you buy part D. It also limits how many times per year you can receive certain services

@Dionysus444 since Bernie has dont nothing for an entire career in the Senate what do you think about this slogan:

"I cant create, so I just take. Feel the Bern in your wallet"

All of which is covered under Bernie's plan. The "Medicare for all" is just a slogan, it's not just an expansion of current Medicare to the entire population.

long, please read for anyone believing the govt controlled health insurance myth.....

anyone here ever had to purchase flood insurance? I have had to recently. it is 100% controlled by the govt through fema. no one in the insurance business not directly associated with that sector knew a damn thing about it, why, because it is controlled by the govt.

after Katrina, then more recently the Houston floods, the govt lost their asses on claims. so what do they do, they go out and rezone most of middle America for anyone living anywhere near a body of water and force flood insurance on the populace. they re-designated existing zones regardless of the fact no claims have been filed or flooding has never occurred. why, so they can get their money back. to require insurance being needed, the govt says there only has to be a 1% chance a 100 year event could possibly occur, lol. think about that.

some homeowners could go out and get elevation certs done, some which proved they didn't actually live in a flood zone, even after the govt mandated they buy the insurance. the govt agreed the cert was correct but refused to pay back the premiums they forced on them, and you could do nothing because no one regulates the govt.

flood insurance policies are insane, premiums are unregulated, make no sense and deductibles are through the roof rendering the actual policy worthless. and don't go and actually make a claim if an incident does occur, the govt will jack your rate up to the point you can't afford your home anymore.

so imagine what the govt would do once they get their hands on health insurance......no one regulates the govt, remember that. uncle sam always collects

luckily my policy is not too bad and within my means for beautiful piece of property. even though there is no chance whatsoever a flood can occur, I have to have it.

ummmm, actually he is right. Medicare/Medicaid reimburses at a much lower rate than private pay.

Awww someone's scared cause the progressives are winning the debates and their policies are resonating with the American people. Bernie's a doddering 77 yr old hollering about how we should be nicer to people and helping each other. Ooooo so scary.

“Bernie’s plan”

Lmaoooo

GFY. Guarantee 99.999% of Bernie “supporters” don’t give one grass root dollar to Bernie because they don’t believe in his plan to purchase another mansion. They just believe orange man bad.

Uncle Joe taking the gloves off tonight. Might call Kamala the n-word.

Actually, Bernie's plan would be great for me. I'm 70 and the extra money from not deducting Medicare from my SS would help. And not having to buy a supplement will also save me money. And dental, vision and hearing? Sign me up.

Hopefully, I'll die before the entire system crashes. Or the poor quality of healthcare will kill me.

James Comey's next reckoning is imminent — this time for leaking

The Justice Department’s chief watchdog is preparing a damning report on James Comey’s conduct in his final days as FBI director that likely will conclude he leaked classified information and showed a lack of candor after his own agency began looking into his feud with President Trump over the Russia probe.

Inspector General (IG) Michael Horowitz’s team referred Comey for possible prosecution under the classified information protection laws, but Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutors working for Attorney General William Barr reportedly have decided to decline prosecution — a decision that’s likely to upset Comey's critics.

The concerns stem from the fact that one memo that Comey leaked to a friend specifically to be published by the media — as he admitted in congressional testimony — contained information classified at the lowest level of “confidential,” and that classification was made by the FBI after Comey had transmitted the information, the sources said.

Although a technical violation, DOJ did not want to “make its first case against the Russia investigators with such thin margins and look petty and vindictive,” a source told me, explaining the DOJ’s rationale.

Prosecutors found the IG’s findings compelling but decided not to bring charges because they did not believe they had enough evidence of Comey’s intent to violate the law, according to multiple sources.

But Comey and others inside the FBI and the DOJ during his tenure still face legal jeopardy in ongoing probes by the IG and Barr-appointed special prosecutor John Durham. Those investigations are focused on the origins of the Russia investigation that included a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant targeting the Trump campaign at the end of the 2016 election, the source said.

What’s really stupid about FEMA is they allow homeowners to rebuild in areas that flood repeatedly. Properties that have a low probability of flooding, but are in a FEMA flood zone, subsidize the high probability properties. Typical of Government though.

I haven't watched CNN since the run-up to the conventions in 2016.
I generally dont watch any cable news..but it's hard not to click over to CNN bc its straight f'n comedy.

I think Jake tapper is a good journalist.

But much of the rest of the network goes full on off the rails nuts.

I didnt see in the debates but apparently one of the unknown candidates started talking common sense about how f'n stupid Medicare for all is and Dana bash abruptly cut him off. They clearly have picked Warren's crazy ass.

It's retarded healthcare was ever tied to wages. The monstrosity is a direct result of a tax exemption implemented in the ww2 era. Abolish taxes.
