Pope's offense, can "scheme" enough points to win most games even without premier shooters (even more so if we don't give up a horrendous number of offensive rebounds like we did last year) IF, as you said, we have a legit/physical defense. So, you're spot on IMO. Getting some pipe hitting mothers/enforcers was priority one. The offense will take care of itself (and, as I said, we'll be massively improved on the boards)
Anyone else love it that the "insiders" and analysts keep saying "they're done with the portal" and we keep getting guys and still have visits scheduled, as if somehow Pope is anything like Cal? I'm thoroughly enjoying that Pope is surprising everyone with signings instead of just going after anyone with the stars beside their profile that everyone else says is great regardless of fit.
I know and have seen how lazy journalists can be, mostly secondhand, but firsthand as well. Not everyone is JDrum or Steve Moss, but dang they are just NOT a motivated bunch.
