Because more kids graduate from college than they did in the past.
Yes, that's part of it... but, gun to your head, are you arguing that Americans, on average, aren't any less intelligent today than they were in the 60's? Have you been thru a drive-thru recently?

Cause I'll take that bet all day, everyday and twice on Sundays and I'll damned sure take your money.

I'm saying IQ's of people are the same as they ever have been. IQ's are the same now as they were BC. IQ does not measure how smart a person is, but is intended to measure their intellectual capability. Obviously, more and more Americans have not utilized or developed intellectually relative to their IQ's.

I don't care who's wrong, man.

You should read that piece, though. I found it fascinating.
Read it. It is interesting and brings up a lot of questions. In my past profession, I had to deal with lots of tests and assessments related to intelligence. The concept of IQ is debatable by its nature. How do we come up with something that can measure a person's God-given ability? IQ is something a person is born with. A day old baby's IQ will be the same throughout his life. If he'd never been exposed to language, sound, sight, etc... What would tests like the SB measure his IQ as?
I would not question that measures like the SB would show declines. The question for me is whether it or any test is a valid measure of innate intellectual capability.

Republicans from five states -- Wisconsin, Colorado, Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia -- writing law to protect free speech on public college campuses.

If passed, any student caught denying/disrupting speech, assembly, demonstrations, etc...would be expelled, and if it pertains, subject to lose his/her scholarship. The law would also force campuses to remain neutral on public issues.

Which is beyond stupid, because we already have a law protecting it: the 1st amendment

I agree. I'm assuming this law is to put consequences into place. If being expelled, loss of scholarship, university staying neutral is on the books as law, then these liberal universities, who give into and allow this type of behavior, will have no choice but to act accordingly, and go above and beyond to provide a forum and protect speech, instead of using the fear for safety excuse.

For some reason I had a glimmer of hope that the GOP would take this opportunity given to them and make the best of it by helping get Trump's agenda through, but it is becoming more apparent they have no intention on doing so. Its all lip service and Congress is so broken I am not sure God himself could get his agenda through.

Zero confidence Tax Reform gets done this year. Hope I am wrong.

.7% GDP growth - lowest in 3 years...winning! Low information voters are winning and it's glorious! Carry on sheep.

How can any intelligent person be against tax cuts? The US gov't is the most inefficient, wasteful, corrupt entity in world history.

The less money they get, the better.
aww the same people crying about the deficit are now all in in making it worse. Corporations do not pay anywhere near the 'official' rate. Just more giveaways to the rich, yay!

Another cover up uncovered in the Hillary email investigation.

Report: Federal Grand Jury Issued Subpoenas In Hillary Clinton Email Case

A federal grand jury provided FBI agents with subpoenas to inspect Hillary Clinton’s BlackBerry devices last year, court papers provided to Judicial Watch show.

According to the watchdog group, FBI counterintelligence official E.W. Priestap filed a sworn declaration stating that the FBI “obtained Grand Jury subpoenas related to the Blackberry e-mail accounts.”

Priestap’s declaration is the first official acknowledgement that a grand jury was used in the Clinton email investigation. But the declaration raises new questions because of various reports stating that a grand jury never was convened as part of the probe.

Tom Fitton, Judicial Watch’s president, questions why the information about the grand jury is just now being disclosed to his group, which has filed numerous lawsuits against the State Department and other agencies for records about Clinton’s emails.

“The FBI convened a grand jury to investigate Hillary Clinton in 2016. Why is this information being released only now?” Fitton asked in a statement. “And it is disturbing that the State Department, Justice Department and FBI are still trying to protect Hillary Clinton. President Trump needs to clean house at all these agencies.”

[laughing] No smoking, no video games. Screw you guys, I'm going home.

Western ISIS Fighters Discover War Is Terrible, Run Home

Western Islamic State fighters are attempting to flee home via Turkey as the terrorist group’s territory in Iraq and Syria shrinks, The Guardian reports.

Turkish security forces are reportedly capturing fleeing ISIS fighters at the Syrian border in growing numbers, although some may have slipped through. Some of the western ISIS fighters describe feeling duped by the terrorist propaganda.

U.S. citizen Kary Paul Kleman, a Muslim convert, went to Syria with his Syrian wife in 2015 to participate in what he says is humanitarian relief. Kleman told his family the information that led him to Syria “was all a scam,” but denies he was fighting for the terrorist group.

Kleman’s experience mirrors that of Mohamad Jamal Khweis, a U.S. citizen who hated life inside ISIS so much he surrendered to Kurdish security forces in Iraq. “It is very strict and no smoking there,” Khweis lamented to the press after his surrender in 2016. He continued, “my message to the American people is that life in Mosul is really very bad."

House Democrats bury 2016 autopsy

House Democrats are going to extreme lengths to conceal a report on the party’s problems.

After nearly five months, Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-N.Y.) presented his investigative report to lawmakers during a members-only gathering at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee headquarters Thursday night.

Sources described as "dense but thorough." But members were not allowed to have copies of the report and may view it only under the watchful eyes of DCCC staff.

Saw (on Reddit) Elon Musk bought a giant tunnel boring machine because he wants to experiment with boring tunnels and figure out better ways to do it.

Crazy, a private company investing it's money to figure out ways to eliminate waste and do things cheaper.

After the past few days listening to Fuzz, I was under the impression companies and governments just waste money and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Does the left still call themselves "progressives" or did that finally just get thrown out the window once everyone started laughing at the term?

Spoken like a liberal arts major. If you went to college that is. Not that there's anything wrong with not going.

Lowest in 3 years? Who was President then? Was it Obama FIVE years into his Presidency? Yup.

Name one piece of legislation that's been passed since Trump took office that would have affected 1st quarter GDP. Same reason Trump shouldn't brag about jobs numbers. His policies have yet to take hold.

Ironic you call anyone a "sheep" or "low information voter" when you can't answer the question directly above.

I fully understand the concept of tax revenue and spending.
Why take it from the top .2% when you don't take it from the other 99.8%. My bottom line is this. The wealthy should not have a disproportionate tax burden. For me, a person that is firmly in the middle class, it's a matter of fairness, of principle, or right. As for those receiving an inheritance "not earning it", that's a moot point. It's a gift. If I have and choose to give my already taxed $50 M to my children, that's my call. The government has absolutely zero right being involved in that decision.
IMO, every person should pay the same percentage of gross income in taxes which means they would pay more. No deductions, though I would be able to bend on the deduction for children and buying a home. I'd even be willing to say there is no tax on the first $15K of income as I can already hear the whining about flat taxes being unfair to the poor.

You did say in a previous post one thing I agree with fully. Something to the effect, "Don't raise taxes until spending is cut". I'm for it. In fact, I'd be for cutting all government spending at the Fy16 gross tax receipts level. Obviously that means cutting programs. Personally that should not include cutting defense or necessary expenditures in support of our allies. Other things could be cut. I could then support a tax increase IF the money was dedicated to supporting SS (as I said, though I'm nearing the age of eligibility to draw, I'll never qualify), veterans services and paying our debts.
Perhaps because I believe in the Biblical passage; "To whom much is given, much is required.".

In the recent 30 for 30 on John Calipari, George Raveling made an astute observation. When talking about the one-and-done situation he said...and I paraphrase, We talk about things and how they should be, how we would like them to be...and then there is reality.
The reality is that wealth, and especially inherited wealth gives one an incredible advantage in most every aspect of life. You and others like to point out the exceptions where those who could work are gaming the system. Nowhere do I see you or anyone talking about those who game the system from the other side. That use their wealth, power and influence to further enrich themselves.
The facts are that the wealthy benefit more from "the system" than do others so to ask them to accept more of the burden is justified.
There are many things the government spends money doing that I don't agree with but the biggest of those is continuing to add debt onto the shoulders of me, my children, grand-children and future great grand-children. Much of that debt has been added so that millionaires and billionaires can enjoy tax cuts. They and the rest of the top 1% have received the OVERWHELMING majority of benefit over the last 40 years. They have received nearly all of the income growth and 3/4ths of the tax relief...yet it is never enough.

You say that you'd favor a flat tax with at $15K of income exemption...the estate tax is a tax with a current $5.4M exemption...

When less money means more debt, yes. In fact I question the intelligence of anyone who believes that adding debt to the national debt is a good thing.

When there is less spending than taxing, there can be tax cuts.

Bill, I'm still waiting for you to present the first 100% efficient organization.
Eliminating waste is a 24/7/365 job. You can seek it forever but you will never succeed in eliminating it completely, thus why the 100% efficient organization doesn't exist.

You give credit to Musk for trying to be more efficient. Do you know that governmental departments don't do the same thing? I've worked in the corporate world for most of 40 years and not a week has gone by that there wasn't discussion of eliminating waste. Why can't they ever just go ahead and eliminate it so we can stop talking about it? I mean if you've been trying to do so for 40+ years...
