I'm not sure the Gaetz is even going to be confirmed. The Senate isn't crazy about him.
The popular theory is that Gaetz went ahead and resigned because the House ethics report was supposed to be released Friday. We'll see. A criminal investigation, when all that went down didn't produce any evidence to back up the testimony of Joel Greenberg.
And while we're on the subject of the law, people/the media/Democrats keep referring to Trump as a convicted felon, which isn't true. He was FOUND guilty by a jury, but a person isn't convicted until the sentencing phase is complete/signed by the judge. And frankly, it's not looking like that's even going to happen.
Again, they think deportation of criminals means actual criminals, not everyone here illegally. Most of the country isn't in y'all's rightwing spaces where they scream ILLEGALS all the time. That interview with a Trump voter I linked is just one statement among many of the same. No one thinks 'criminal' applies to them and theirs.
The problem isn’t really the public schools across this state. The problem is JCPS.
Don’t see how the poorest kids who are trapped in that district can get out, now.
Yes, go away.Is anyone who expresses an opinion that you don’t agree with a troll and traitor ??
I’m not bent. I just do not think he’s qualified. There are many people in this country who feel the same way. I was curious as to what people here thought, so I posted. It appears many, if not most here, approve of the selection. That surprises me. It is unclear that he has practiced law for any substantial amount of time, but maybe that doesn’t matter. Maybe there have a number of AGs over the years with minimal legal experience ?? I don’t know …
Yes … after research, based on my curiosity, it is not that unusual for an AG to be appointed with minimal legal experience.
What kinds of backgrounds do U.S. attorneys general have?

I know this is hard to hear, but your side lost. You DON'T have a say. As Obama said, "Elections have consequences. I won."Is anyone who expresses an opinion that you don’t agree with a troll and traitor ??

Makes you wonder how these idiots who were some of the same did not learn from the last time they said that there was no way Trump would be elected President. It is as if they blotted out 2016-2020 from memory. Stupid is as stupid does.
Glib snake oil salesmen and evil preacher types. They can talk the weak minded into anything. The dims are the easiest targets. Most of our Federal Government is made up of: Lawyers that never practiced law, and business majors that never ran a business. I think we'll be okay.
First, she needs to act like a woman (get my breakfast done and clean up the house) and then she needs to look like a woman (put on some make up and fix her teeth). Still, most conservative men would not have anything to do with her unless they are not married and need to relieve some stress. You know, conquer the wild untamed unintelligent mare. Afte a night with a conservative man she would be dancing the Donald Trump.
Now THAT is a tremendous candidate for gender transformation. The Cat lady...
I am not against the work visa with caveats. You work, pay taxes (a little more because of status until you get citizenship) you can stay. If you don't work (with time allotted to find new jobs if yours goes away) you are deported. Commit a crime during your time here, deported after serving your sentence of course. Try to come back in regardless of reason of deportation, automatic prison sentence to be served without possibility of parole. As a practical matter, i think everyone understands they are going to basically take the approach laid out by jd Vance time and again. Lets start with securing our border, stopping insane handouts, then deport the criminals and go from there. Once all thats done, lets start with the next wave and so on.
Thats basic easy common sense for anyone not actively trying to destroy the country. Thats literally what people voted for.
I do think we'll end up with a scenario where many end up getting to stay and become citizens but it wont be amnesty. Neither I nor hardly anyone else will have a problem giving law abiding, hard working people the opportunity to earn their citizenship through reasonable time and steps. They just need to be identified, maintain gainful employment, and as part of assimilation to learn English.
Again, this is only radical to the insane far left who were literally actively trying to destroy the country.
Since the election how many stories have you heard about libs flipping out and killing their loved ones, whole families, or strangers. Hell, they think it's a good idea to promote mass murder over one election. Bunch of damned psychopaths and sociopaths, but sure, conservatives are super violent ones.

So true about what socialism does. Don't know how Britain leaving EU in 2020 is factored into this.
I believe the nominations are not 'formal' until inauguration at which time the Senate takes them up...start hearings...then vote.Unless they do a recess appointment, which looks very likely, since he already resigned his congressional seat.
Remember this is in Seattle. She and he/it will probably get the key to the city. This was premeditated. She said she knew beforehand that "it had to be that day" and not some other time. She's gunning for a mental health defense, but the prosecutor needs to look at this as a "hate crime." I'm sure there's something to do with ageism or his political/ moral alignment that led to this, and I'd bet money her "editor" partner was involved in planning it as well.
An argument could be made for Medicare but not SS. SS is paid into so you are getting YOUR money back. Not fully funding SS and Medicare? Those are welfare
I think the Senate would have to go in recess for 10 or more days next January/February to accomplish this, which is why Trump wanted Scott to be the Leader. If Thune goes forward with this, it will likely be challenged in the courts. In 2014, Obama appointed 3 democrat members of the NLRB via recess appointments and was sued over it. The Supreme Court found the appointments unlawful because the Senate was not truly in recess and not for long enough. So neither Trump nor Biden have used recess appointments since. For the Senate to go into a long recess just so Gaetz (and others) can sail through would be something else.I believe the nominations are not 'formal' until inauguration at which time the Senate takes them up...start hearings...then vote.
No recess then for months. So I have no idea when they would try a recess appointment.
Love fried turkey. I've got about the biggest fryer you can get. Bad thing is....price of oil (especially peanut) is thru the roof, and if you like turkey for a Winter holiday, etc it's a real pain cleaning it up outside while it's 30 degrees or less. It's been a great week. Republicans take the White House, Senate, and House of Representatives and the Cats get the huge win in basketball. Then add in that I went to the VA yesterday and while there, I was told they were giving out free turkeys. Drove over to the area where it was happening and got a turkey plus a bunch of can goods, mashed potatoes, and stuffing.
I took it all to my mom's house so she can do Thanksgiving for the family and not be out any money. I've never cooked turkey or prepared a big meal like that so it would have been lost on me. I was tempted to buy one of those turkey fryers but it probably wouldn't have went very well.
Exactly! That’s why Trump’s proposal to eliminate tax on your SS benefits makes sense. You don’t receive a tax deduction when this SS tax is withheld from your paycheck, so it’s not fair when you are required to report SS benefits received as taxable income.SS is paid into so you are getting YOUR money back.
Think I misspoke. Investigations/vetting can happen before and the hearings...but the vote doesn't come till after the inauguration.I believe the nominations are not 'formal' until inauguration at which time the Senate takes them up...start hearings...then vote.

I agree that while delicious it's very expensive to deep fry a turkey with the prices of a jug of peanut oil being $50 or so at Wal Mart.Love fried turkey. I've got about the biggest fryer you can get. Bad thing is....price of oil (especially peanut) is thru the roof, and if you like turkey for a Winter holiday, etc it's a real pain cleaning it up outside while it's 30 degrees or less.
So I basically use the fryer now for boiled corn at a big Summer cookout of for Low Country Boils.
I second the congratulations.
