Seriously, why do Trump supporters continue to attack with false narratives.
So you're just now getting around to wondering about that?
@WildcatFan1982 you liked this post, I’d like to hear your reasons why the Electoral College is a positive for America.
Disagree with you, Dion. The EC is preventing tyranny of the majority. If you get rid of the EC then small states might as well cease voting. EC is genius, warts and all. Equal representation as the folks in South Dakota shouldn't have to live forever with the choices of New York city. All of America deserves a seat at the table and that's what the EC is designed to ensure.

This is war. So push the envelope Trump. Make them come and get you.
This guy... then literally a few seconds later he posts the below:
This will not end well for the Transies. They are asking for blood shed.

By the way he governs. How do you define a RINO? Is a RINO someone who
*Takes porno out of schools
*Does not allow grooming of children in public schools (now in grades K-12)
*Pays a $3,500 bonus to any teacher who completes a comprehensive civic course
*Pays a $5,000 bonus to police officers leaving liberal states governed by RINOs and Dims who are hired in Florida. The applications are many.
*Supports the passage of Concealed Carry
*Was a member of the Tea Party when a congressman
*Was an outspoken voice in support of President Trump in the Russia hoax
*Was a founding member of the Freedom Caucus
*Turned a blue-purple state into the most conservative state in America.
*Has called out many real RINO's and never said a negative word about Trump.
*I say Lindsey Graham is a RINO. Am I wrong? He is running Trump's campaign in SC

I could fill up pages but I have said enough. His record speaks for itself. There is nothing RINO about how he governs the state, if he was he would not have received 60% of the vote against a former Republican Governor turned Democrat who was a RINO. We know what RINOs are down here.
Rinos are what they do in DC not on the local level. Apples and oranges.

Trump is his own worst enemy. I really hope people can get to him and rein him in if he wants to have any shot at all at being elected again. He needs to learn the art of taking the high road and not allowing himself to get engaged in pissing matches that serve him no good. He would garner a whole lot more respect and friggin votes for that matter if he would just be complimentary of the things Desantis has done and not get into mud slinging. If Desantis had sights on running, Trump could do the old "killing them with kindness" thing. There are a LOT of Floridians like you Sawnee, who wish RD would hold out till 2028, but Trumps own toxicity is causing the RNC to really force RD's hand. It doesn't have to be that way. They are on the same team, fighting the same fight. In the end they both want the same thing and if they would only just work together to find a way to ensure the forseeable future is not allowed to go down the dark road of Liberal tyranny, we would all be better off. But unfortunately that's not happening.
What a load. The RNC doesn’t want any version of Trump. They’ve been whispering in RD’s ear and Casey is listening. It’s not going to end well.

What is puzzling to me is the mountain of objective evidence the Trumpers are willing to ignore in order to perpetuate their cult.

Look at how they get lied to time after time and played like rubes only to see in court filings the people that were lying to them finally have to fess up in court? Yet it doesn't bother them at all to find out they were played?

In court, when all the lying has to stop, the truth is coming out. Pay attention to it because that is real. They sing like birds when the handcuffs are waiting.

On the goofy Big Steal claims, Fox News just got handed a decimating decision on the Dominion case. So on all fronts the truth is hunting you guys down so you may want to start paying attention to it... or be consumed by it. Just like your hero is finding out.

Explain how the EC puts the issues of South Dakota and their 3 votes onto the national stage. Then explain how their vote being worth around 4 times someone in California's is "equal representation". What we have is worse than tyranny of the majority, it's tyranny of the minority.

The Electoral College was a compromise between small states and large states to get the Constitution passed. It wasn't some genius artifice designed to protect election integrity. It was willingly submitting to an inferior concept because they had to.

Simple, if you get rid of the EC then South Dakota effectively has no relevance in Federal Government. The concept is cornerstone of the genius of our form of Government.

The people living in more remote places do not face the same challenges in their daily lives than folks do elsewhere. Each section of the country needs to have its own voice in the say of things and not be overwhelmed or imposed on by a "tyranny of the masses" which falls in line with Separation of Powers and all the other checks and balances the genius of our form of government provides.

Equal. Not more or less equal. Equal.

Because the truth is not valuable to them. You and I disagree on many things. But we both value the truth. They value that Trump champions them and targets who they want targeted.

Dion, maybe this explains it better than I attempted to:

Ancient Greek political thinkers realized the potential for a tyranny of the majority to occur in government. The Greeks called this type of government an ochlocracy, defined as government by mob rule, and they considered it one of the three unsuitable forms of government along with oligarchy and tyranny.

In the early years of the United States, John Adams and James Madison both recognized the danger of a potential tyranny of the majority and took action to prevent it from happening. In Adams' 1788 work A Defence of the Constitutions of Government of the United States of America, he wrote that a government ruled by a unicameral elected body would be dangerous, and he argued instead for a mixed government with three separate branches. In the Federalist Papers, Madison discussed how an overbearing majority faction could take control of the government.

In Europe, influential thinkers like French political scientist Alexis de Tocqueville and British philosopher John Stuart Mill also promoted the dangers of a tyranny of the majority.

Tyranny of the Majority Explained

So now that he has been indicted, Trump should refuse to surrender to New York. He should stay in his Florida mansion. He can use this opportunity to work with DeSantis, who has said Florida will not assist an extradition request.

If Trump is serious and wants to fight against weaponization of the justice system he should take DeSantis’s offer. He can unify the Republican base by showing a willingness to work with his fellow GOP.

This is war. So push the envelope Trump. Make them come and get you.
It’s better he’s arrested and the entirety of Republican leaning states will file lawsuits in federal court to go after Bragg for election interference. Staying in florida like assange isn’t a good way to play it. He’s going to run against Ron desantis. Let Texas and the rest go after Manhattan and the state of New York in federal court for election interference and a whole host of other things. The law is on trumps side so hiding in florida wont expose what’s going on. I believe Bragg will be in prison before trump.

I understand and in most ways agree with the principles of federalism you outline here. My point is that what relevance does South Dakota have now in the "Federal Government"? The EC doesn't guarantee it a voice anymore than a popular vote would. It has none on the presidential election stage(the only one with the EC) right now. The Founders put genius in their creation in many ways, but not everything is the embodiment of a high-minded ideal. Some are just practical compromises that had to be made in the politics of the day.

You're listening to dumb people. Every single one of those would be thrown out. There is no "crime" exception to running for office.

Here's an idea, want to run for President then don't commit crime.

How many times do you guys need to get your arse handed to you in court before you learn you're failing at life?

The key has never been in "perfect" but in "more perfect"... the EC is the best chance places like South Dakota maintain some relevance to the massive hordes of population in other places. This concept is so bedrock that as you can see from the very beginning it has been pondered and wrestled with as an important protection if a free country ruled by free men that may all want to gang up together and impose their will on everyone else, meaning the lesser minority.

Obviously deflecting on the day after Der Fuhrer got indicted and also I'm not a member of any party, but I'll play. Is that an exact quote? Do you actually have the exact words used in this STOLEN diary? Does the STOLEN diary say how old she was or describe the trauma she endured? Did the state of Delaware already look into this alleged crime from a STOLEN diary and make some sort of decision? 🤣

Quotes help please.

It has two enormously important Senators. Who are now elected by popular vote.

Also, for all the numbskulls that were talking about DeSantis defying extradition. That was lip service by Ron. If the marshals came for Trump and DeSantis got in the way then he gets the Wallace standing in the doorway treatment and his political career in terms of national office is over. He can stay down there in Florida lording over the Cubans and meth labs scattered in between old people living in mobile homes and invasive species ripping everyone's pets to shreds.

DeSantis is literally Lord of the Flies. That is his destiny thanks to Trump.

You're talking about the separation of powers, checks and balances, basic civics. We're not children here. I'm challenging those assumptions you were taught, not inquiring about them. The Electoral College only applies to the election of president. It's a representative who's the leader of the executive branch. It specifically and pointedly isn't the 'mobocracy' you're talking about. In fact in our two party system, which the Founders didn't envision, we only have a choice between two options. There's always one winner and one loser, a majority and a minority. Your "tyranny" is just of one or the other. Like we went over it isn't tyranny though, it's one elected representative who executes the laws, not makes them, thanks to our aforementioned checks and balance and separation of powers we already have.
