Former President Donald Trump has been indicted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. The DA has been investigating the former president for hush money payments.
Maybe there’s a lawyer here who can answer. is it against the law to pay hush money to a hooker?
I guess there’s more to it than just that since it’s a sealed indictment?
I remember resisting sleep that night because I was concerned what would happen once I did.
Finally dozed off around 2 AM. Woke up about 6 to the bad news of all the dumps.

We'll have to wait and see. Based on what's out, to me, it isn't the violation of the law that's at issue. It's the zeal with which it's being prosecuted. Selective prosecution at it's most obvious.
It also triggers other unusual legal concerns. I will be surprised if a us president is allowed to have their fingerprints entered into a database or placed in any sort of public prison.

They don't want the same thing. Trump wants Trump. RD wants what is best for the country - as do most Pub candidates though disagreeing what is best. To the degree that DT did good things for the country, and many were, it was mere coincidence with promoting himself.
Trump isn't his own worst enemy. All the negatives he creates gets him both publicity & more loyalty from the cult & perhaps sympathy. You don't think he's going to play his indictments to the guilt hilt? He's going to be Trump & play hell getting 273 EV's, much less half the PV. His goal is to lose the popular vote for the 3rd time.

So now that he has been indicted, Trump should refuse to surrender to New York. He should stay in his Florida mansion. He can use this opportunity to work with DeSantis, who has said Florida will not assist an extradition request.
If Trump is serious and wants to fight against weaponization of the justice system he should take DeSantis’s offer. He can unify the Republican base by showing a willingness to work with his fellow GOP.
