I was talking to one of my customers today. He is the owner of a small business with maybe 5 employees. He was telling me he got a gov email requiring him to fill out a survey. Counting instructions, it is 43 pages. I got the same email, but haven't opened mine yet. Small business can't find employees and they expect us to do 43 pages of paperwork instead of spending that time trying to actually make and sell a product.

Back in the day I ran a company of 500+ employees. Did a fair amount of gov't work. After I had been there for about a year I put out a directive of no more gov't bids except for a couple of large deals with the Navy. For that very reason. Cost analysis on some of the gov't bids/contracts...not worth the time (including extra personnel just to keep up with all the paperwork) and ongoing headaches.
Agreed, but this has nothing to do with selling to the gov. This is just they are wanting to stick their nose in where it doesn't belong.
