He was truly great at UK. I felt we had a chance in every game.
Now I feel like there’s a chance we can lose any game.
I'm waiting for the typical RP hyperbolic comment about how good Pace is.

Yes. Anytime it got close I thought we would lose. Pitino is the worst close game coach I've ever seen.
Terrible X and O coach. Great motivator. Great individual instruction. Great at having his teams in condition to play his style. X&O? No!! He is better now than he used to be. But he's still not good.

Not sure about that. The guy got out coached by Steve Fisher, Dean Smith and Lute Olson in the tourney and those guys didn’t out coach many.
I also never went into a game against him while at UL worried that UK wouldn’t win. He has one title in over 25 years of coaching at two of the top 5 programs of all time.
I’ve seen top 25 votes for them too. I know Pitino will have them solid, but it may not be this year. Plus he has to recruit NIL and players won’t put up with a dick coach now so he may have to change a little of his style.

Pace is the best shooting team since Travis Ford. Pace has a forward that is as good as Jamal Mashburn.

You were watching something totally different then. You are so ate up with Cal your memory has failed you. You need a break of some sort.
I remember Cal owning Pitino over and over again. He's also won the same amount of championships as Pitino with less abortions.
I mean to be fair, Cal has absolutely destroyed Pitino head to head.
Most on here are either too young or their memories are too short to recall that prior to 1996, the knock against Slick was that he would kill it during the regular season, but then would choke against an inferior team in the Big Dance. Several years in a row.
Don't get me wrong, he was a great coach back then, and I loved having him, but he was not the invincible deity that some like to portray him as today.
Its a rare form of Sypherliss he has. It's a cousin to Syphilis.
