How important is a regular season championship for you. Seems most pundits give us little chance for that. Our team is so unproven but has such great potential. I think a conference title would be a tremendous kick off to the post season.

if we don’t compete for first place in the SEC, there is a big problem
Conference title would be nice but honestly the SEC tournament championship is more valuable for post season play(respite what Cal thinks of it) Tournament champs get a one or two line boost in seedings if they have a good regular season record. A team on a roll is better than coming in off a loss(unless you have won like 20 in a row and need a wake up call)
That might be true for the other P5 conferences, but it always seems like the NCAAT bracket is already set before the end of the SECT championship game. I’ll forever be salty after the 2016 SECT.
because one game isn't going to move a team's seed line in the grand scheme of things 98 percent of the time.

I have no doubt we compete, but actually win it I don’t know. We have a lot of freshmen and on the road sucks for seasoned guys, and teams aren’t afraid of us anymore. They want to use us as a springboard for themselves.
This is great value if you are a betting man. If you think this team is severely underrated, like I do, I don't think you will get better value than you will now.
Sad... and again confirms that sadly UK, after the past few seasons, has settled into mediocrity in the minds of most.

Looking at this roster and the guard play, I would agree. First things first ... beat the hell out of Kansas.
Don’t disagree with the thought, but always seems like (at least to me) winning the ACC, B12, B10, etc means more towards seeding than the SEC.
I would predict absolutely nothing unti I see them play a few games. They have talent but can they function as a team with all the necessary components and how do they respond to adversity. Predicting great success now will only lead to anger if not met.
Pre-Cal a 4th place conference prediction would have put our coach on the hot seat.
At the end of the season, we will all be let down once again by coach Cal. Dude cannot coach.
TAMU will be tough returning much of the same team but I’d be surprised if this UK team finishes worse than 2nd.

When it all shakes out, Kentucky and UT will be the cream. In recent years Cal has found a way to lose one we are not supposed to lose. That alone could be the difference. Hopefully he will have enough talent to overcome his shortcomings.

Sports Illustrated ( most recent version) has Tennessee 4th in the country and UK 10th. Texas A&M 16th and Arkansas 18th. That sounds more realistic than us finishing 4th in the SEC sans UT #4.

Rather win the SEC regular season since the tourney never affects our NCAA seeding.
I think everyone is sleeping on the Cats this year and I for one like it.
Winning the SEC is our birthright. 4th place is flat out unacceptable.
They've been sleeping on the Cats for years now, there's no reason not to. Until Cal proves that he can put away his Dream Draft Team desires in favor of winning SEC titles and making Final Fours, nothing is going to change. Anyone paying attention knows that.

This ain’t yer gramma’s SEC. If you look at the number in the top 25, it’s getting bad as football. The old SEC college basketball days are ended. The is now the semiprofessional corrupt basketball conference.

Doubt it with B10---Final is alwasy 3pm, on Selection Sunday. I dont think conference tournaments mean that much----And it doesnt help that the SEC/B10 final is on Selection Sunday.
