Our Next Opponent (A&M Commerce)

Pressure from Wagner/Reed/Dilly on the perimeter finally broke them.

That's exactly it! You're right.

This teams runs & runs & runs & runs & runs all game long! And on the other end, they pressure and pressure and fight and fight and then run some more! And when you've had enough of Wagner and Edwards and Reeves, all of a sudden here comes Sheppard and Dillingham to do it all over again!

When the bigs come back, they are going to get shots blocked and altered and changed by Bradshaw, and then they see Big Z coming.

This team is going to wear teams down over and over again over 40 minutes- I think we'll see a lot of teams fold in the 2nd half, just like Georgetown and NMSU.

People trying to frame it like it's not as impressive because NMSU "gave up" late in the game....that's the entire point. They just don't get it yet.

That second half was so fun to watch. The most fun I've had watching a UK game in a while. Just felt like endless pressure. It's why I love Wagner and I don't care if he's missing 3s (just don't take too many!). Dude has that relentless dog in him. Just kept attacking and attacking in the second half. And loved the activity from Reed and Dilly too. You could tell it drove NMSU crazy in the second half. Loved that block from Reed that kind of came out of nowhere after the guy got by him. This team is such a joy to watch.

I totally agree with you on Wagner- anyone calling for him to take a backseat or come off the bench are wrong IMO.

He didn't shoot it as well as he normally can but man oh man, even when shots aren't falling, that kid is getting AFTER IT on every single play.

Fighting over every screen, getting up underneath the ball handler and making him pick up his dribble- the kid is electric to watch on the defensive side of the ball.

Yes, I'd say that is a more accurate way to describe what happened. If you're trying your best to make a 40pt win sound ho hum, you say "they just quit" but that's not what we saw in the game. UK just beat them into submission. As I said elsewhere regarding NMSU, I was impressed with their intensity, defensive pressure, and even making some tough shots early on. They didn't look bad early in the game. But what I saw was UK's defense giving them fits, open shots just not available for NMSU, and Kentucky's quickness and quality shots eventually overwhelming the opponents. I would suggest anyone just watch that game again. The fact that this turned into a 40pt laugher from where it began isn't about NMSU just mailing it in and taking a "who cares" attitude.

We’re playing a bunch of economics majors?
Before the Texas A&M System absorb the school it was East Texas State. The reason it is now Texas A & M Commerce is that it is located in the city of Commerce which is located between Texarkana and DFW metroplex

Unless I’m missing a connection we seem to be playing them because they were going to be terrible and they have a kid from Camden.

They finished the game 5/35 from 3FG (14%).

Lost by 27.

We should win this one by 40-50.
