OT: Pitino lands Dingle

Yeah AND Kentucky got railroaded. Was as bad as the cheats in 2017. Absolutely egregious.
yes it was ugly from start to finish in that Duke game.. the officials try to take us straight out of it but we didn't let that deter us with the exception when they took Mash out on that bullshit call where he smacked the ball loose. He got all ball if I remember correctly. Mash fouled out of every big game in his career. He was aggressive and played with passion. Some will disagree with this but I thought Mash didn't take any plays off. He has that Prince affect where it look like he was going half speed but he give it all he had in my estimation. He just wanted to win. The best time to be a college basketball fan. It's all good if everyone don't see it my way.

2 titles were won. One was taken away, but it still happened and Pitino still won those games.

You doubling down and pretending it didn't happen makes you look the part of a pathetic spurned ex-lover hoping for his ex to be miserable.

Hilarious.

No, Pedo Rick did not win a second title. No where in the history books will you find it. But you hanging onto his gonads religiously is pretty funny to me too! 😃

And Calipari couldn’t get to a final 4 until he had the benefit of coaching at UK. I’ve checked the record books on that too. Pitino did at UL what Calipari couldn’t do at UMass and Memphis. He won the tournament in his vacated season. Calipari didn’t have to vacate a championship because he choked at Memphis and UMass

Exactly!! Couldn’t have said it better myself. Cal sucks and needs to leave today.

Now, how did Cal come into this conversation?

Has nothing to do with being a "fan"----Just simply understanding how good of a coach he was. To show ONE play to try and diminish that is silly.
and to act like a good coach can't screw up is silly too. I'm sure we could find plenty of clips of K and Bob Knight screwing up too.

He got his PG from Iona, Dingle, Taylor, Davis, Luis, and Alleyne for the backcourt. That's quite the haul for St Johns. He also brought Slazinski from Iona, who used to be at UL and kept Soriano. Another frontcourt player and they will be a tournament team.
So

Iona was 12-17 the season before Rick took over as coach. They were tied for 6th in the conference and were the 7 seed for the conference tournament before it was canceled.

As for his time at UL, his vacated championship wasn’t overloaded with talent. Montrezl Harrell was the only player that had much of a NBA career. It was still a masterful coaching job. Let me guess, you are one of those people that think Calipari was a great coach at UMass, but wont give Pitino credit for UL. After subtracting vacated seasons, Pitino is still the only coach to take 3 different teams to a final 4. His 2005 final four at UL wasn’t vacated. He also had 3 elite 8s at UL that weren’t vacated. Cal has zero final 4s outside of UK after vacated seasons.

And he beat ole Rick almost 90% of the time while he has been at UK and slick Rick at Louisville including twice in the NCAA tournament when it really matters. Cal also won a title in 2012 which Rick never did. Facts are facts and head to head meetings prove Rick can't carry Cal's jock strap.

that depends on what you call a X and O's coach

he has never been a great in-game coach, his bad record in close and OT games prove that

what he does better than any coach in my lifetime is prepare for an opponent
Yeah I dont know if if I'd use the term X and O either as I used to get frustrated with him when he was here for not making some adjustments. But that was only because he believed in and coached his style and system like no other with a discipline and commitment to details that were beyond and ahead of everybody else. Like the pressure, conditioning, charting deflections which scored hustle, belief in the three point shot and getting them before the other guys could set up, freeing up everybody 1 through 10 on his roster to shoot and play with complete freedom and confidence.

I dont know what you call that but those are what he was so good at and known for. I would get upset with him for not make adjustments during games but he believed in his system of of wearing the other guys down so much he didnt panic and stayed with it and sure enough 9 times out of ten he was right and it worked that way. Late in games we would go on a 15 to 5 run and take over because their legs were shot and we were fresh getting steals and knocking down threes. The guy can coach.
