OT: Online Persona vs. In Person Persona

I’m like Mary Poppind on both cases.

Practically perfect in every way!!! Except for being a dude.

I actually show more restraint when online then in person.
My wife says I have absolutely no filter; that I say things that others want to say but do not out of fear or respect.
I am a crusty old grandpa who worked all his life, retired, built a business; gave respect to those who deserved it, called out the stupid MFer's who needed to be called out; still work everyday; curse, love gummies; bleed blue and if you knock on my door during a UK game, you ass better be able to run faster than 1200 feet a second.
Once when I was coaching and we were ranked #1, a reporter asked how I would handle having a bullseye on our back. My response was simple; "I like the fact the bullseye is on our back. That means your behind me kissing my ass".
Other than that, I am a sweet humble guy who has named my cat, Izzy. When asked why Izzy, I said at the time I thought, "is he going to stay or is he going to be put out".
My cat is me second best friend after my wife of 40 years.
I enjoy reading on this site whether I agree with you or not. I know most on here are Big Blue Brothers/Sisters and that's all that matters.
Go Big Blue!!!!!!!!!

I work with a whole bunch of imbeciles that love being micromanaged. At our work they stand around the production lines watching everyone, or stand out there waiting for people to get back from break. They even track people going to the restroom. People are so controlled that they leave early from their breaks to get back to the floor. Today after the company "end of year" employee meal they had multiple head haunchos give speeches about "meeting our numbers", making sure to let everyone know that they expect more in 2025. Kind of ruins the taste of that cheesecake.

I hated clock watchers when I worked on a time clock. Especially if a coworker who was an equal who tried to rat someone out for taking 16 minutes on a 15 minute break.

Don’t you love the rah, rah, rah, get your ass back to work “celebrations”?

I once worked for a company that threw an annual Christmas party at local restaurants. One year they booked the nicest joint in town, fed us and the CEO stands up to talk.

Says we had a record year and our profits and profit margins are higher than ever before. But “people and equipment” are our “two biggest liabilities” and they would be announcing layoffs in early January.

Merry f’n Christmas to you too, pal.

I'm basically a friendly smartass in person. If I gauge that you don't like my sense of humor, I back off. But I'm always joking around.

If I had something else lined up, I'd have stood up and said "hey, we all wanted to get you a card but felt it would be a more beautiful, and uplifting thing, and one that fits the message you do eloquently conveyed, to just say to you...... GO CHOKE ON A DEEK"

I'm pretty quiet and reserved in real life. Especially now that I'm sober. But, I curse like a seasoned Marine. I try to play nice on here, but will dig in pretty quick if someone gets unjustifiably snippy.

Oh, you stated: "snippy"...

We have a lot of interesting people here. I see some folks that are kind and nice. I see some folks who are combative and mean, a some in between. It got me wondering if your online personality matches your in person peronality.

I'd say I'm pretty much the same except in person, I curse a lot. Whereas I don't on here for obvious reasons. I'm not combative in either realm. I let people think what they want.
I'm pretty similar to how I am on here.

My username is my nam and has been since 1996. I’m sure anyone with even an ounce of desire could figure out who I am.

I’m mostly nice, talk too much, and occasionally am an asshole (mostly for my own entertainment). In real life and on here.

I try to post in screen name character most of the time, what you read is what you get in real life. I enjoy my time on the board and like having fun with it

Very calm and collected. Don’t talk a lot. Hate being the center of attention. I read this board for years before finally creating a profile so I could post.
Now when UK plays whether it be football or basketball my alter ego comes out. My family watches games with me just because how animated I get, they get a kick out of it just because I don’t act that way in real life. I even swear our dog knows when UK plays because he avoids the living room during the games lol

I’m kind of a go with the flow type person in real life, not usually bothered by much. Just wanna do my thing and don’t worry about what others are doing. I try to be pretty authentic here. I don’t really have enemies, try to get along with everyone.

I love baseball, lifting weights, eating meat. Pretty simple. I really am 6’5 and get told I look like Jim Halpert quite a bit.

i guess i am about the same
the people i have put on ignore if they act like that in real life i would never be around them very long
life is too short

I’m the same, but I’m trying to be a better person. People usually think I’m a A-Hole when they first meet me, once they get to know me, they realize that I’m a A-Hole. But, I’m consistent and people seem to like you when you are genuine.

I work with a lot of people in two vocations where my sarcasm and humor can be often utilized in a loving way.

I'm very respectful to posters on here who are "made men" (i.e., legitimized posters), and not blatant trolls. I do the same with the people I work with. I treat them with a lot of respect and love, but I'm also lovingly sarcastic when I need to be in both worlds, especially the young people I work with.

I'm leaving one vocation next year, so that will be a net win in terms of not having to deal with so much stress.

I used to more combative on here years ago. Not anymore. It was more on the general discussion/ political board, but I don’t go there ever anymore. Haven't for a very long time.

Gotten older and realize it's not important to me to get thst engaged on message board. Don't post near as much as I used to. Have things I'm involved with that take more time.

Maybe that was supposed to be the Festivus party…

I try to be the same in both worlds. It's hard to do sometimes online but I get along with most everybody. I can talk to anyone. I'm a loyal friend but once I'm done wrong it's hard to hang up my grudges but I eventually get there. I like to laugh and cut up. I don't like being around whiners and loudmouths.
