Oscar on espn2 right now

No worries. Cal will bring someone in and coach them up. LOL!
You know what, oscar wasn't all that great before he came to Kentucky. Who says Cal didn't coach him up? I have not been a fan of Cal last couple years but sometimes you got to give credit to a Hall of Fame coach for some things; you can't just say every one of them were chance. Josh Harrellson turning into a player was something to behold as well. I actually have faith onyenso will be good because Cal has done well with that type of long shot blocking 5 plenty of times.

Oscar's awful pick and roll defense completely negates his rebounding prowess against good teams. I'm not going to cry myself to sleep if Oscar leaves but on the other hand I think bringing in Johnson for help defense improves our defense immensely when he's playing next to Oscar.
Heck. He's going to help our defense period. I'll be very disappointed if he doesn't pick UK Saturday.
Oscar is so much more of a plus than his pick and roll defense it’s not even close.

Hint: look at who was on staff with Josh, and who's there now. It's now Cal who developed the big guys lol.

You don't believe that surely
They stated from the beginning he wasn't gonna play last year.
If he was good enough Cal would have played him, when had he never played talented freshmen the most minutes possible? Only the ones who sat out on purpose basically. Even Askew, Whitney, and Skal got every chance in the world from him.

And see everybody this is why you sit on your ass and watch numerous good optiosn go in the portal, only go after a guy who was using the Kentucky the whole time, then put everything in Oscar returning when it sounds like he is gone, and know look what is likely to happen, cal will have another glaring hole in the roster, which will give another excuse if Kentucky struggles, it’s the same thing over and over again
Another good hijacking of a thread to bash Cal. Why don't you just start a sixth "Bash Cal" thread of the day and let everyone else talk about how Oscar did at the combine?

Onyenso will be good. Not great, but good. Better than Richards his first 2 years, but maybe a notch below Richards JR year.
If Ony is anything! close to jr nick richards sign me up.. Richards development was one of the biggest surprises under cal

He has to have a second round guarantee. Nothing he’s doing makes sense otherwise.
Which (to me) begs the question..why is that better than returning to school? Livingston could work his way into the 1st round in a couple years.

Yea. You don't think it's possible he threw him in a couple of games early to prevent more shaedon sharpe noise and get him some game experience?Look I'm not saying he's a world beater, but it was obvious the kid had a ton of potential early on. We had oscar this season so why rush him. They said going into the year he wouldn't be playing. It surprised me when he got in a couple of games.

To act like players can't get better is our fans worst attribute. Everyone forgets how things were before cal arrived. Very few freshmen were major factors.

You mean like Hopkins, or some thought Collins or Juzang or Matthews.

I correctly predicted Richards success. I admit, it took 1 year longer than I thought it would.
I also was correct on my assessment of Boston (being hugely overrated), and Whitney.

You can see the skills in Onyenso, like you could with Richards. With Richards a lot of it was grip strength (not what you can do in the weight room, although that doesn't hurt). But they both had nice jumpers 15' out. They both have nice timing on shot blocking. But both needed some experience.

His defense looked better yesterday (only 1 game). Was he great defensively? No. But he looked no worse than any other big out there on defense.
He's not going to make it, because of his defense. He will make it (if he does) because of his rebounding. And just needs to get his defense to NOT be a negative for him.

I watched some of the game Nelson was in. His measureables were impressive, but he kind of disappeared in the 5v5 game. So maybe he doesn't stay in the draft, and becomes an option.

Yeah well, those people weren't expecting Cal to not even take a swing at anyone in the portal beyond Hunter Dickinson, who he put minimal effort into.

You know how Cal is and still choose to put your trust in him??? That says more about you than it does him.

Lol how did he put minimal effort into him ? Your posts are comical sometimes . He flew to meet him, had him here on a visit. He just couldn't guarantee him NIL money .

If Chuck Hayes can play 10 years in the league, how can anyone doubt Oscar.
