Looking good!!

"This means nothing, it's May, he's a beast, Matt Pilgrim", etc, etc, etc.

It's May and not much else happening, but Ugonna posted this video today, I like what I'm seeing! From the sounds of it, the kid seems to work his tail off which is great.

Let's hope Theiro is doing the same! Both of those guys could be major difference makers off the bench for us next year.

I think big things are right around the corner for him. I look at the way he moves and don't see how he can't be just as effective junior year Nick Richard's was. I actually think Ugo has better hands and more natural basketball instincts than big Nick.

He’s got all the tools, it’s just a matter of doing it in a game with defenders on you. Last year he got lost quite a bit. Hopefully he gets the time and grows fast this year.

Well, we all wanted that Onyenso/Bradshaw frontcourt this time last year. Looks like we're going to to get it, fellas.
Yep and oddly enough I could see it being a dynamic defensive front court I mean with there length and quickness who knows but I think both guys have a high ceiling. What if both are like Cauley-Stein defensively and then Bradshaw hitting jumpers and both catching lobs etc..could be something brewing that surprises all of us. I am going to be optimistic whether Oscar returns or not. If he does then we definitely are ready.

Shooting 3’s which’s he will not be allowed to do anyway but regardless the made 3’s we’re the same shot looped. He didn’t make those consecutively as was depicted in the video. Regardless he ain’t taking those shots next year.

Noticed that "gathering" he does before his jumpshot; he'll never get it off in a game unless they're just daring him to shoot.
Yeah it's like he searches the seams before his hand is set. His agility and body control seem impressive. He certainly has major upside.

Remember Ugonna should technically be a freshman so Cal will likely go full tilt with an all freshman starting lineup. Back to his roots! It'll definitely be a talking point this season.

I still think the ODDS are Oscar will be back...anyone can look good in a workout video, but UGonna has the tools he just needs to be in there being battle tested, he didn't get much of a chance last year. I am fine with him if Oscar does make it somewhere else.

I did notice that too. I thought maybe it was because he received the ball a bit low. That's not too hard to fix.
But the thing with him (or any 5/C) shooting jumpers is not that we need him making a certain number of them per game, it is that the defense sees him as a potential threat out there and so his defender follows him out there, freeing up around the rim. Even Oscar could do that.
Now sure it's a bonus if your 5/C can hit a couple 3's per game (without it taking >6 attempts). But his main jobs IN ORDER are:
1) protect the rim
2) gather rebounds
3) help defense (part of #1)
4) be able to provide some high % baskets
5) pull your defender away from the basket to make drives easier

Oscar is one of the greatest ever at #2, but struggled with 1 & 3, and was adequate at 4 & 5.
Onyenso should be much better at 1 & 3. Of course not as good at 2, but I think he will be good at 2. No reason he can't be capable at 4 & 5.
