The team will be wearing helmets this season with QR codes on the back of the helmet. You scan the code and it takes you to their NIL collective to make a donation. Personally I hate it but its a solid idea that I’m sure others will follow.
It'll even out.Despise NIL. It has ruined college sports. Not at all what it was intended to be.
They should put QR codes on the big screen a few times a game. Probably just before kick off, when everyone is jacked. During halftime, when many are imbibing and as the last few minutes before we win encouraging fans to rearward them for a job well done. It'll even out.
As far as QR codes just being out and about, that likely won't work unless safeguards are put in place. Could be as simple as a plexiglass box over the codes so it's impossible to fake someone out, but if no protective measures are done, nothing is stopping a bad actor from putting up a code sticker that'll lead to malware or scams.
Helmets are a solid idea. For us, it might work on TVs around the concourse and the endzone jumbotrons too.
I feel the same but it is almost like a karmic pendulum that is now swinging the other way.Despise NIL. It has ruined college sports. Not at all what it was intended to be.
the concept of amateurism for the major money sports is basically laughable
It'll even out.

It wont be long before the Oline will be selling ads on their behinds . . . "EAT - AT - UNCLE - JOES - BBQ!"
Seeing how I don’t think any of these companies see a profit lift from these NIL deals, I think this falls outside of the “capitalism” bucket…waaaaaayyyyyy outside…Mercy!
Such rampant capitalism!!
For shame!
It might not even out any time soon, but the current model is completely unsustainable. Something will have to happen where university presidents, ADs, and the shriveled husk that is the NCAA (or its ghost) come together and put the brakes on this situation through negotiations and fair governance.I thought it would too, but not so sure any longer. ATM and Miami were 2 of the biggest NIL abusers when it went into effect 3 years ago, now they have came back to the masses, and others have taken their place, Oregon has Phil Knight and his 40+ billion wanting a NC in his lifetime, tOSU is spending like they are printing money because Michigan has won 3 in a row and a NC and the vols are so desperate to not have to set at the kids table they are spending more than anyone.
That and when males started competing in female sports. When professional athletes began appearing in the Olympics, I thought the need for “amateurism” in colleges had passed.
Then form developmental Leagues and let Universities remain student athletes compensated by Tuition, housing, food, books and Pell Grants. When professional athletes began appearing in the Olympics, I thought the need for “amateurism” in colleges had passed.

The NCAA comment was more of a "whatever governing body we can come up with to sit at the table with the people that actually matter."I really hope you are correct, but the NCAA in no longer a governing body, anytime they try to make a ruling they get sued and are 0 for the last 75 years in their cases. I just remember Miami and ATM spending millions to sign their classes, they have since backed away and UT, Oregon and tOSU have stepped up to keep it going. I don't think any 2-3 teams can substain things as they are going now, but if a couple teams seeing success will join in as a couple teams fall off. But I really hope your vision is they way things are heading, but am afraid that teams with the biggest wallet will dominate . Just this week the vols had to top OL commit, not because of NIL, but because of the intergerty of the program. Fact he was demanding 7 figure QB money to sign
