Ive been talking about starting Hawkins since Ole Miss. It has nothing to do with if he is as good as the other guards on the team. He is a high energy player like Lee with the best on ball defense on the team. If you put him with the starting platoon, there is a ton of offense around him and he is able to play. As we are seeing tonight, he is fitting in great and showing that he is not a player you can completely sag off and is playing great defense.
I hope that Cal stays with this for two reasons. Takes everyones minutes back down to sub 25, and gives us that ability to go back to what was making us so successful earlier on this year.
