Damnit...I was SO close to picking KU but I thought UK would bounce back after that silly defeat against Richmond AT HOME...oh well...next time I need to stick to my gut instinct!
Just remember how frustrating the freshmen are this early in the season and pray that this isn't a Goodwin year.
Look at my example in the OP. My code has to handle all the different ways that people might put their predictions in. Specifically, I said to not use "-" as a separator but you did. It has a special meaning so if you use it, my code can't necessarily sort out your pick. When we win, I will sometimes manually enter predictions. When we lose, I don't. I have to parse every different way that people put in predictions with my code. Anything that I can't figure out makes running the games more time consuming for me. Since my only compensation is satisfaction of running a good game, I try to keep the extra work to a minimum. The easiest way to follow the format is to cut and paste the example prediction by highlighting just the prediction, right clicking and select copy, then move to the posting window and right clicking and select paste.
Yeah, you got burned by adding stuff above your pick. It had you as predicting Kentucky 3, Kansas 81, with a tiebreaker of 70. Sorry about that. That has to do with my code that tries to handle the tiebreaker. There were so many ways that people spelled tiebreaker and other simply put what the tiebreaker was that I gave up on finding it. If I find a text in front of a number and one of the team names and a number followed by something and a number, I go with it. That's why I ask that any text be put after the prediction. If I were a better programmer, I could probably fix it. However, if I were a better programmer, I'd wouldn't have gotten laid off so wouldn't probably have time to fix it.
I should have known better. Yeah, this thread slipped to the second page, I should have bragged about rescuing it AFTER my prediction. Haha.
