Allen is real good. He can and will take Murray off the dribble. It will be a good match up.
Considering Murray and Allen won't be guarding one another, I don't see too much excitement in that matchup.

Murray is the better player and more talented than Allen, but what some fans don't consider is the fact that sometimes the better player doesn't win the matchup that night. It's obvious Murray is one of the best guards in the country. That doesn't mean it's a lock he will out play every guard he is matched up against all season long. I do think he gets the better of any guard Duke puts on him, but at some point during the year he will be outplayed by someone.
Isn't the "real" matchup always in regards to whether the refs will allow the Duke perimeter to handcheck and body up their opponents in the last eight to ten minutes of a close contest, while at the same time managing to call the same type of aggressive defense as fouls for the opponent?
Didn't you say on your board that jones would shut down Murray, Jefferson would shut down skal and that we had no answer for Allen???

Wouldn't surprise me if Pisgah is a two-faced poster. You can see his level of underlying disdain in everything he writes about Kentucky.
UK needs a relatively decent performance out of either Poythress or Lee in order to win. That and the fact that UK needs to hit better from the perimeter. The three-point shooting so far this season has been terrible for UK.

Also - Murray is absolutely ridiculous, and it's Allen who has to prove that he is on Murray's level, not the other way around. Murray has demonstrated the same kind of dominance against grown men in the Olympic qualifiers that your boy has against schools that nobody has ever heard of.
Dukes coach is expecting Jones to handle Murray and Jefferson to school Skal. Jefferson has a little dirtiness about him he will have to use on Skal. Hopefully Skal is warned.
Because he doesn't play for Kentucky. Allen is really good and we will see that first hand come Tuesday.

Allen countdown sniff the court all year and he makes a few plays in the title game out of nowhere and now he is really fuc*** good?

Let's see when he is away from Cameron against Murray, Briscoe and company.
Allen is a good player but Murray is other worldly as is Skal . Duke is just not very good in the front court besides Ingram who really is a 6'9 guard . Jefferson is their best front court weapon but that speaks to how weak they are inside . We will abuse them in the front court to an embarrassing degree but due to the talent they have in Allen , Ingram and the other guards it will stay very close .
Switch Ulis to Jones and I agree.
Jut because they both bring the all up means nothing. Allen is way more physical than Jones.
In fact, I wouldnt be surprised to see K have any player guarded by Tyler attempt to take him to the hole often.
to me, in a perfect world,
skal on plumlee - plumlee just sets screens and hits the board. skal should be able to defend that
poythress on jefferson - about the same size, lee would do a good job defending jefferson too.
willis on ingram - ingram is 6'9" but skinny. willis is a good match up because of his length, but his lateral quickness will be tested.
murray on jones - even in size, jones doesnt attack the basket much
briscoe on allen - allen is very athletic and quick, he would blow by ulis and use his physicality to beat him, briscoe i think would do better
This could definitely work. People will cry for Tyler but on defense this is probably best. Not sure Murray or Briscoe are ready for PT duties though.
Allen is most definitely a good player. Don't know why people can't give credit when it's due. Tyus Jonēs was ahead of him last year. When he finally got a true chance to shine he did. Anyone thinking this is going to be any kind of blowout is dreaming. This will be a high scoring and entertaining game.

Murray's 1-10 wasn't "other worldly", just think what he would be if he went for 27 and 28 points both games... Allen did.
Jefferson and Plumlee are two big Sr's who both showed improved post moves. They will be the most physical pair we have faced yet. Those two rebound and pass very well. Will be interesting to see how our guys respond.
