Pope is to smart not to know there is some force out there with a UK bias. Whether it comes from the league, the official or the NCAA is up for debate. One things for sure we are not a college favorite. Pope was so careful with his words early saying…….” We are contacting the league to find out why our opponents shoot double the foul shots we do. He knows in any important game Ayers, Shows, Surmons or Ogeilby will be assigned and we will lose. They were not required against Tennessee this year but they were still assigned. We were not winning that game if we had played lights out.
At what point does Pope or Mitch complain publicly? Will it help or hurt? Higgins cost us 2 titles. We were never winning those games with him on the floor. The last 2 minutes of the Oklahoma game in the tournament should be a crime. We were fouled 20 times in that comeback.
I do believe Pope knows and is quietly trying to find the source. He’s about the only guy I believe could fix this.
