Moss Vs. Floreal

How would you compare the two? I was young enough that I don't remember the details of Moss's game, but I do remember enjoying watching him play and that he started off as a walk on.

Moss was nowhere near as Athletic but he could shoot. I believe Moss had a lot better high school career and possibly had some scholarship offers . Not sure about Floreal .

Moss could really shoot the ball, and he was pretty fast/decent athlete. IIRC he was a pretty good football player in hs. He is probably among the top for walk on players at UK like Cameron Mills and Epps.

Moss had some skills but he certainly was not good enough to play at the Division I level. I always knew that if he was playing a lot UK was in big trouble.

Moss was good enough to play D1 ball, he played a decent amount at UK. He would have started at several smaller D1 programs.

I think if Floreal had played on the teams and at the time that Moss did he would have played as much or more than Moss did.Moss had some skills and probably a higher basketball IQ but Floreal's athletic ability would have gotten him on the court regularly.

That's all great but even if he can outrun and outjump Jamal Murray every time, I'll still take Jamal Murray every time.

UHA doesn't play football. Epps was on scholarship from day one, Mills finished his career on scholarship. Ravi is the greatest walk-on in UK history.

I could have sworn epps was a walk on. I can get on board with you on moss though. I loved Ravi.

He averaged around 6pts, 3rbs, 1ast and 1to in almost 20 minutes per game. If EJ were on those teams, he would do at least that well, imo. That said Ravi is among the top in UK walkons.

Primarily Patrick Sparks though I think Ramel Bradley played some 2 as well. Rondo was the PG.

Moss much better basketball player all around. Floral much better athlete all around.

Moss was great, but as others have suggested it's hard to compare...would Moss have gotten the PT on Cal's team? Probably not. So if EJ got PT, I think he could put up similar numbers, and especially help on D.

best walk on ever at UK was Derek Anderson. People forget he walked on his first year after transferring from Ohio State.


..and yes, I get that he really wasn't a traditional walk on.

Floreal is said to be very athletic. Moss was average in that aspect. But he had some skills including shooting, that is probably ahead of Floreal. Moss would have been a borderline starter at a school like WKU, EKU, Murray St, or Morehead (probably start for 3 of the 4).

I want to see floreal be able to dribble the ball good before I pick him over anyone. I don't think he would ever see the court.
