Come on. You know what I meant and you're trying to twist it so you don't look like the one who is wrong.

But just to be clear, I meant that I'd always rather the player not reclassify because they are better when they are older.

I mean how can I look like the one that was "wrong" when I had zero replies in this thread until that one?

I had formed zero opinion, made zero statements, etc in this thread. - my very first post in here was to point out that you were the one that seemed to change your sentiment.

I was merely pointing out that the reason people were pointing out MKG, Towns, Murray, etc. were because they were going off what you actually SAID.

Now that we know you actually meant something entirely different, it makes more sense and I often tend to agree, but there have been tons of success stories with reclassifications as well.

He’s already lowered the bar at Ark that’s his favorite thing to do. He convinced Arkansas fans and brass that it was a successful year because of a great draw to the S16. Once he saw ark fans clamoring for more after getting their teeth kicked in all year he knew what he was dealing with. You guys enjoy.
I mean this is really not that different from what Muss did with going to the Sweet 16 after finishing like 10th in the conference. Sure it would be great to have a much better regular season but all any fanbase ever talks about is the tournament anyway.

Kentucky has a unique position where we lead for the most NCAA categories and statistics. I don’t care what causal people care about which is a few weeks. We care about the entire process and it’s why we play the game in the first place. Everything matters. That’s why Calipari isn’t going to have his legacy be what it could have been. He didn’t respect the process and the men who built the sport and program before him. I guess since you don’t care about any of that he’s at the right place. Enjoy the losses, I suppose, and maybe he’ll get a few tournament wins here and there. This is statistically the greatest program of all time, we don’t get the luxury of only caring for a few weeks.

Also of note he was gifted a very good road relative to those matchups. Kansas threw the game or it wouldn’t have gone past that. I think after losing often you will too grow tired of it when he tells you those 5 losses in a row are for march. To hell with that but we appreciate it.

Kansas threw the game or it wouldn’t have gone past that
That makes you sound either ignorant or just a hatter.
We also beat Kansas by 16 in a exhibition game.
Earlier you mentioned Duke, we play them in the Thanksgiving classic this year.

I don’t understand why anyone would believe Arkansas is going to be good next season.
They return some minutes, but that was from a team that was 1 loss away from missing the tournament. The outgoing players are much better than the incoming players and if Knox does not return, I don’t see an NCAA tournament team.

Thats your standard comment and wrong it was said we were locked in after beating MSS.
Your oneliner is really old.

Returning about 60% of minutes ( highest in the SEC) and about 49% of scoring.

Your always negative even on your own players returning.

BBN the greatest fans in the nation right? Remember the night they quit on their team last year by starting to leave before the game was over?

It's the same reason we hoped for each year he was here, that the freshman coming in were top level talent. If they are Cal can have a good year, if not then 95% of the time he can't coach or scheme his way to a good season.

You’re returning the highest minutes from a 14 loss team that finished less than .500 in conference and only made the tournament because the league was strong last season.
The math is simple, Thiero, Fland Ivisic and Knox are better than the incoming Freshmen and the portal additions.

I believe most of your fans were ready to run Cal out of town last season before he won y’all’s Super Bowl on February 1st in Rupp Arena.

Payback, revenge, being disrespected, getting booed, are all great motivators and it helped turn your season around and get you in the tourney.

So really, you kind of owe us for jump starting your run.

You’re welcome.

I think it’s hard to determine what each Calipari team will look like. They’re going to be top 10/20 based on their incoming guys. We’ve seen this before, they’re probably not John Wall types. This generation of freshman is stacked up against grown men and they don’t have the luxury of playing the game we played in the 90’s or 10’s. I don’t care how good a freshman is they’re likely not dunking on built 25 year olds. Now add to it the money in college basketball which is retaining all of the players that would have left for the G league / overseas / NBA. This current generation of freshman is also softer which isn’t gonna help.

I’d still say it’s likely they won’t be a top team but depending on the roster spots could be good. In the end it won’t matter. Calipari is a really bad floor coach and his style is too elementary to do anything with coaches that coach to win now, today. Calipari was the only coach in the country who would start Edwards and Wagner on his last UK team. It’s a glaring example.

Yet, as we saw on this very board, you still had come along late people who thought it was a wise decision. Quite unbelievable. I remember telling those guys no sir, you don’t start games in holes. He was only doing it for one reason and that reason wasn’t because it’s smart. “Bring your best off the bench” is not something good coaches do unless it’s a rare case and a certain player. Yet many here still bought into that nonsense. You’re gonna see the same with their fans. Calipari was a marketing major, he can market ribeye sandwiches without the ribeye and people here even bought it. Many didn’t but many did.

And KY won a total of 2 games more than we did, so what's your point?

Well for one we were better all season and nobody on earth would trade Kentucky’s season for yours. So there’s that. We maintained all year and were a top team. You sucked all year and were a bottom barrel team. I realize you’d like to throw it all in a wash and call it 2 losses worse but that’s not reality. We had performance and you had excuses. That’s the Calipari model. Create pre season excuses because playing for the draft with freshman is already a losing recipe and he knows it.

Limping in as a 10 seed and getting a lucky draw for a few games until you exit doesn’t override the absolute garbage season you had. Calipari is being universally laughed at you guys just don’t know what’s going on. You will.

The game every KY fan had marked on their calendar, the biggest we told you so game, 100% must win game. I can pull up the statements from your game thread if you wish.

Eh, it’s what it is. To me it was just another game. I don’t care anything about Arkansas. That game wasn’t about Arkansas it was just a story line for Kentucky and Calipari.

Once the Calipari vs. UK game was over it didn’t mean anything other than Arkansas won a game which only matters to me for the all time record Kentucky Vs. Arkansas. Which we own and will always own. But that’s really what matters our all time records we uphold as the greatest program of all time.

You guys aren’t a top program and you won’t understand what I’m saying. Real UK alumns and die hards aren’t thinking about that game in the way you think. Now I wouldn’t have boo’d, I thought that was a recipe for disaster. But it’s just 1 game on the all time head to head with Arkansas. It’s a really bad record for you guys and that’s not changing.

Kentucky plays for history and records. We own the most all time NCAA categories that’s what we play for. It was a neat game to be played, Calipari Vs. Kentucky, rare situation. But nothing more. I live in Lexington I can tell you people weren’t that surprised. Too many emotions but again it’s got nothing to do with Arkansas and it’s over. We move on to dominate Arkansas like we always do. And not a person walking in Kentucky would trade seasons with you. That would be ridiculous to even suggest.

To me, Cal winning that game is more of an I told you so than him losing. He will win games like this every year, if not multiple ones. I think most people on this board would agree with that. Lose to someone like Vandy or South Carolina at home and then go on the road and pound UT or Auburn.

He may very well own Pope like he does Pitino but every season will end with a heart breaking loss. Those heart breaking losses get even worse when they are to teams like Oakland and St. Peters. If Arkansas wins every game against UK while Cal is there it is a loss that I will accept because I know how the season will end every year with Cal.

I guarantee Cal had that game circled on his calendar. So did the team, especially Wagner, Thiero, and Ivisic.

It was absolutely their Super Bowl.

Probably one of the reasons why they were playing so bad leading up to that game. They had their eyes focused ahead, instead of one game at a time.

Once they got passed that game, the pressure was off and they played basketball.

I think that, and the fact that they were better without Fland, or better with Wagner having the ball in his hands all the time, that allowed them to go on a run.

Their confidence came back after beating UK.

Now, some UK fans also overhyped it. Not going to deny that.

But I guarantee it was bigger for the Arkansas staff and players than the UK staff and players.

None of our guys had any ties to Cal.

In other words, it was personal for Cal and the players who played at UK when they came into Rupp and our fans threw fuel on the fire with all those boos.

100% correct, of course our guys wanted to win but it was just another game for them, with the 3 players you named it was also a more than a normal game for Knox and Richmond.

Ivisic got benched by the end of the year and two of the others missed large chunks of the season with injuries, but sure

It's irrelevant here. It's their board. We are guests and the only opinion that matters is theirs. I get it. It's a comfort zone.

There are some great posters here and some not so much. Just like any board. I've come around for 20 plus years and get a chuckle when i see "Why are you here, we don't come to your board". No, you're right. You don't. You've just been up in any Arkansas related tweet, Torres pod, anything Arkansas/Cal anywhere since the hire was made. You'll get called a Troll and insecure and words will be put in your mouth to further the embellishment.

I'm in Louisville. Have coached softball in Kentucky for a decade and a half. Had several very good UK fans text me all year how bad Cal sucks, can't coach, lost his fastball, etc. I texted them after we whooped em at RUPP. All i said was "Good game, best of luck the rest of the year" No reply. Crickets. And these are great friend, colleagues of mine. The funny part is, I knew i wouldn't get a reply.

I was here through the miserable years of Pelphrey, Heath and even Mike Anderson.

Looking forward to next year. Both teams should be very good. Glad we get them at Bud.

What's so funny hamuel? As far as I'm concerned you can crawl back to the dead Arkansas board as well. You 2 are still in denial and think you know better than UK fans who spent 15 years with cals bs. You'll find out soon enough he is washed out and doesn't care about winning or Arkansas. You laugh at me for defending the UK fan base on a UK message board. And everything I said was 100% accurate, so go troll someplace else

So glad you guys are happy with Cal. I hope he retires as a Hog.

But know this, Cal will be happy as long as he does two things at Arkansas. One is beat UK, and the other is to stand there on draft night and get hugs from the players whose lives he has changed. That is the only legacy he cares about.

If you guys are good with that, then he’s in the right place. You guys are the perfect fan base for him. Cal needs to be a hero and he couldn’t be a hero here without winning titles. Now he knows you guys are good as long as you get an occasional Sweet Sixteen, maybe an Elite Eight, and y’all will probably give him a raise if he ever gets you back to a Final Four.

But that doesn’t matter as long as he gets 2-3 guys drafted every year. That’s what he is all about. I use to think it was because he loves the kids, but I have come to learn, he loves the admiration. He loves that these kids and their parents worship the ground he walks on. He is a narcissist and he does not care about the school/program beyond the fact that it is a vehicle for him to add to his legacy, which has nothing to do with winning.

He lost us the all-time wins record for a short time and never batted an eye. He was too busy talking about how many players he has gotten into the lottery, and how many millions of dollars he has made for his players.

That is really all he cares about, because it’s easier to do that than to actually coach and win games that matter.

Just thinking out loud here:

How great is it that we went from, “Draft night is the greatest night in UK basketball history” to “I understand the assignment”?

It’s good to be a Cat.

I think we should leave the Hogs alone about Cal and be happy he is gone.

And we should thank our lucky stars to have a coach that understands what we want and will be crushed as much or more when we do not achieve a title, as we will be.

We may never win another title, but it’s good to know our coach is not going to deflect and celebrate mediocrity like the last guy.

Sorry, I just had to say it.

I’m kind of tired of talking about a guy that ran our program in the ground, patting himself on the back the whole time.

We are really just wasting our time.

But no wonder Hog fans flock here, we are the only ones that even care enough to talk about their team. I’m sure Duke, KU, and UNC fans could not care any less about the Hogs.

Nobody cares about them. I'm 30 and laugh when I hear people talk about how Arkansas used to be good at basketball because I have never seen it. They tried to make a "Splash" hire but were 10 years too late and couldn't see how far gone Cal's best years are.

Cal is not enhancing his legacy as a coach at Arkansas. He demands a very high salary at this point in his career and he’s getting in a couple more seasons of his highest wage earning years.
Arkansas was desperate enough to foot that bill.
