Matt Jones Talked About Some Football Stuff on Basetball Post Game Show

It’s been an absolute embarrassment so far and not even halftime, the entire staff needs to go. We are now looking up at vandy & miss st even looks better than we do at this point. Can’t have a coach make 9 mill/yr for this product, I’d love to purchase season tickets for my boys to enjoy as they get older but not paying that price for this kind of football. I don’t expect playoff teams but being competitive and beating teams we should isn’t too much to ask ky.

Brown needs to leave, DSK needs to leave, Traynum needs to leave, Oline and back up oline needs to leave, all coordinators need to leave and most assistant coaches.

Well, he needs to try SOMETHING. Because I see Stoops next year as his last shot. Fans are already not happy with the direction of the program. A win tomorrow at least gives you a nice end to the year, but lose, and lose bad? He's gonna have to take some drastic steps.

And if he doesn't fire the OL coach, his behind should be shown the door.

Stoops is on the hot seat. Needs to make major changes.

If White leaves I don’t think it’s necessarily bad news. It helps with assistant recruitment for guys to go to bigger jobs. White was a NFL position coach when Stoops brought him on.

I’m assuming it’s player transfers/turning pro announcements given it’s next Friday. I don’t think UK loses anyone we can’t cover with NIL so the departures aren’t actually going to be that bad.
Yeah not that hard to find players who can match a 4-8 season in NIL - lol!

Go Big Blue1

That’s what I’m thinking. BBN is use to the portal being a good thing for bringing players in. We aren’t use to the possibility it can also be a good thing for flushing out all the bad characters too

Yep. DSK played hard every game. He had no blame in any of this!
No blame on DSK, for some reason I thought he had 1 more year. Wanted him to go somewhere else to possibly get into the playoffs. Some guys need to leave to better their situations. Boley might be one of them. No chance in this offense he will make anything of himself.

There are a boat load of problems - culture being an obvious big one - but the way I see it we have a staff full of guys who can't develop players and it's been that way for years.

Who has Brad White developed? JJ Weaver and Jordan Wright were here 6 years and neither one looked considerably different at the end than they did the beginning. Both guys had some pretty elite athletic traits coming in too.

Buffano is a G5 quality control coach who just so happens to be childhood friends with Stoops

Serious regression in the D-Line. Not sure Ox, Hayes, Saunders, or Deone are better now than when they walked in.

Everybody blamed Wolford 1.0 on Yenser's sucky results, but he couldn't develop guys for s**t either. Wolford 2.0 hasn't shown much better. A lot of starts and career snaps in that room and they looked like a bunch of true freshmen. Talent is part of the issue, but the O-line looked better in 2014 and 2015 when there weren't very many "dudes". Why would that be other than coaching?

Marrow presides over the one position group that hasn't had a guy drafted during Stoops tenure. Kattus and Dingle both showed serious flashes as true freshmen. Are either one noticeably better 2-3 years later?

Worst receiver room in the SEC. Have maybe 2-3 SEC level players in that room and none of them were consistent or used appropriately.

It's a total failure top to bottom.

Rowland tried to give a 'what to look for in the off season" a couple of days ago but was more confusing than anything else. One paragraph said Stoops would hit the portal hard but he followed that up by another paragraph stating UK wouldn't be making as many moves as first thought. I admit to being dense but I failed to grasp what he was talking about.

You're not dense. It was confusing.
