Marcus Paige out 4 weeks

Paige was a first team Parade All-America, as well as a McDonald's All-America. ESPN had him ranked 22nd and no. 1 as a point guard. One thing is for sure, Roy using him as primarily a shooter is not helping his NBA chances.

By the way, speaking of rankings, Bobby, when Rashad McCants was on the Dean's List and an All A's student, did UNC nominate him as an "Academic All America?" Or did his comments that he considered school to be prison hurt his case? I think his revelation that he never did any work or went to any classes came later, so that wouldn't have hurt him.

The sad thing is Paige might have earned his status as academic all America, but your school has such a disgraceful record that it has never accepted responsibility for, in the form of imposing punishments, that it makes any athlete from UNC getting named a joke. This is one of the reasons that not accepting any consequences for the scandal is so cowardly.

Where did ESPN have BK ranked? How should Roy use MP to increase his NBA chances?

If he's a tweener it's because Roy Williams turned him into one. He was no more a tweener coming out of HS as a McD AA than Brandon Knight, who left and became a multi-millionaire after his freshman year after beating UNC and taking the Cats to the Final Four. Roy didn't develop Paige as a guy who could play at the next level as a PG. He'll never make it in the NBA as a jump shooter.

By the way, I see Marcus Paige is an "academic all-America." No offense to the kid, who I'm sure is a good kid. But what does that mean at a school where Rashad McCants made the Dean's List and got all A's without -- by his own admission -- doing any work whatsoever? How can you name someone from North Carolina an "academic all-America?"
Paige is certainly a tweener, one who is at this stage a 6'1 shooting guard who has not shown the ability to be a true floor general. Knight had a lot more raw talent and potential, hence why he was a top 5 recruit, and also has a couple of inches on paige. Now the argument of roy not developing Paige into a true pg during his time at unc I can understand. There is no doubt that Paige had a much better chance at succeeding at the pro level if he developed into a pg rather than remaining an undersized 2. With that being said I don't see too many players these days leaving unc a much improved player

Does he play against Maryland? If not, the Maryland backcourt will tear UNC's apart. It would be entertaining to see them lose to Maryland in Chapel Hell.

I don't think he'll be out long...This couple be Roy's last stab at an ACC title for awhile.

I hope the Terps hang 60 on them and Trimble kicks out ol Roy's chair leg as he runs by.

There's not a lot that can happen to Duke or UNC, short of a death or some shit, that would make me feel bad for them. I'd love to see a bench clearing fight between those two schools full of black eyes and DDTs, ending with season ending suspensions.
