love Matthews

8, 6, inline, boxer, v, direct fuel injection, forced induction, naturally aspirated? What you mean?

By the end of the year Matthews is gonna be a great wing player. The great thing is that he might also be a 2 year player, so he can develop even more.

He seemed to be in Cal's dog house tonight. Didn't start the 2nd half and Derek took all of his minutes.

I thought it was a more a matter of Willis having his stellar 1st half rewarded. Not that Matthews was in the doghouse, Derek just outplayed him.

Sometimes the officials have a guy they just seem to pick out and blow a whistle every time they move...that was Charles tonite

Derek's performance was definitely part of it and could have been all of it.

But, Cal was on him a couple times really hard last night and Charles was definitely frustrated on the bench.

Love the kid, he will be a good one.

I saw that..bad body language and not listening to Cal...i hate that..Matthews and Skal both blee Cal off when he was yelling at them.

Matthews body language and demeanor on the bench worried me a bit. Cal's yelling at him seemed to bother him.

He made an incredible move on that spin in the lane in the second half. Just a minute or so later the game felt like it was about to get out of hand; Matthews came down and put his elbow right into his defender's chest and pushed off to create space.

Cal flipped and Matthews didn't get back in.

Freshman.

I didn't notice any of that (I did have a houseful watching, and that's always distracting.) I'll watch it again in a bit and keep an eye out for those negative reactions.

Cal needs him to play without reaching and committing silly fouls.

And there is more discussion of body language involving UK players than possibly any other topic anywhere ever.

They'll get over it. Gotta have thick skin to play for Cal and I'm sure they already know that. We all get pissed at people we love and care for, and vice versa, but we get over it.

I wouldn't read too much into it at all.

Nah that first in game verbal blast in front of the crowd is always rough. I still remember mine in HS years and years ago. I didn't take it well but after time adjusted to it. Like the old saying our coaches said" worry when I don't yell at you". They got on us becaused they did care but it's tough to take when you're not used to it. I'm sure they didn't get much of it in HS.
