My daughter lives in Louisville and I go to the UK games with her every several years, and their tailgating is as good or better than ours, especially for people that don't have parking spaces reserved with season tickets. They have options for people that park in other areas and walk up, while at UK, without season tickets, you can't get decent parking and a good tailgating experience. At UL, they have places where you can walk up and buy beer and food. At UK, you have to get into the stadium before you can buy food, water, etc.

Why would anyone "walk up to buy" anything? Do they not know how to tailgate? The point is bringing your own.

People park elsewhere and walk up to UK games and they don't have to worry much about their cars while they're at the game.

Unlike most stadiums, at Commonwealth, there are tons of areas to tailgate. Have to set up the night before and park elsewhere, but very close to the stadium. On grass, not on concrete even....

Yeah, cuz. It’s so coo in da 502. I like tailgatin’ in da concrete jungle.

Problem with UK is that it was formally the Ag farm and it's not near anything. There are plenty of stadiums close to or nearby bars and restaurants such as Florida, Michigan, Ohio State, and even Texas A&M within walking distance. Ours is nice but it is what it is

My point is that at UK, if you don't have season tickets and a parking pass, there are not places that are easy to tailgate and bring your own. I've parked by Rupp and ridden the bus to the games on multiple occasions, but once you get there, there are no options for "public tailgating" like there are at most stadiums, college and NFL. If you are only able to go to a few games a year, your tailgating options are limited at UK.

For twenty-five you can get a big finish courtesy of their basketball recruiting specialists. For an extra fifty you can get mugged in "The Alley." 100 gets you carjacked and a ticket home on mass transit for that real UL feel

I got your point and it wasn't valid regarding "tailgating." If you want to buy food from a vendor and eat, it's called something else. Most places we've done that it's been a food court or beer garden sectioned off from the tailgate area.

I had season tickets for a few years, but rarely bought a parking pass and tailgated from the 90s through the Brooks years. We walked a ways with our gear in a cart or wagon but that's part of the deal.

Where did you put you "gear" and "cart or wagon" during the game? Or did you walk it back the mile or so to your car and then walk back to the game? My point.

Yea, UL's tailgating atmosphere is much better than ours.
