I sure hope not. If so I support Cal honoring a scholly offer. (not that it matters what I think.)

Maybe Cal wwill go to see him/ show how Alex Poythress came back from his injury. We know how much Cal hates to see ACL injurys ie Rose Noel Poythress

Real bummer for Giles. Hate that for the kid... The good news is that he should have plenty of time to get ready for his college debut, wherever that may be. Regardless, it has to be scary any time you have so much riding on your physical abilities and then go down with a major injury. I'm sure he will bounce back as strong as ever though.

i don't really see it as a bad sign. durham and winstom salem are close to one another; winston salem surely has good surgeons but it's more likely than not the best guy for his surgery in the area is at Duke though i dont know
He tore his acl, mcl, and meniscus in the other knee a couple of years ago. I can't help but wonder how much the injuries will affect his game and stock in the coming years. I hate it for the young man.
They're so many ACL injuries now, back in the 80's and part of the 90's very seldom you heard about an ACL injury. I really think it's where these kid's are playing so much basketball with these AAU teams their body don't get enough time to rest and heal up.

Knee injuries are not good but the advancement in treatment makes this a blip. Thomas Davis has had three ACL injuries to the same knee and is a fast beast still.

It would appear that it is one Isaac Humphries and one Harry Giles at the 17U games last year.
Its a done deal to Duke..... if it wasn't written in stone by now.... the surgery at Duke will seal or sign the deal because they'll take care of him and that will have a huge impression on him. not to mention I bet they lose the bills and that also will make a huge impression.

That's a shame. Hopefully he will have a full recovery. It would be nice to see him in Kentucky blue but it isn't likely.

Had a coach in Carolina tell me about this earlier this am, and said that he felt UK had passed Duke in recruiting for Giles. Some issues with Giles getting along with someone on the Duke team. Also, said there was another big time recruit that just got injured as well as Giles. Giles has had an injury every year but one - knees, hand..... Tough break for the kid - hope he recovers quickly.
Just heard about this. I hate it for the guy. The worst part is it was the season opener that he got hurt in. You know he was looking forward to the season, now he has to watch from the sideline. The good news is it was only a partial tear.
I think Coach K heard that Cal was in attendance for Giles season opener, and then got nervous so he arranged for the opposing team to take out his knees. Giles gets hurt, Coach K swoops in to save the day and says come with me kid. He takes Giles to Duke hospital where he is being held captive, threatened that no treatment will be provided until he announces his decision as a Dukie. That's why the announcement was moved forward. Now Giles is going to announce Duke tomorrow so that he can then, and only then, receive treatment to repair his blown knee... Was for sure a Wildcat until Coach K took him hostage and threatened not to repair his knee unless he chose Duke.
