late portal additions?

Me. I entered the portal last night at 11:59 PM. Had a meeting with my bosses. I was probably getting 20-23 mins per game at my current company but could get starter minutes (30-33 mins per game) at another corporation. They understood and told me to follow my dreams. Amicable split. I'll let everyone know where I am headed next.

Godspeed.

Let's approach this from the standpoint of facts and status. Kentucky currently has 7 players. Tshiebwe, Livingston, and Reeves have not said what they will do. Cal has "reached out" to lots of transfers, but Keshad Johnson is the only uncommitted transfer known to have visited Cal. There are rumors of other visits yet to come, but nothing solid yet.

Question. When Kentucky opens its season next November, how many scholarship players will be on our roster, not counting former walk ons? I am setting the over/under at 10. What say you?

I approached my bosses with the same dilemma, but after attending this “university” for the last 38 years, I’ve figured out that the NIL money at other “universities” aren’t what I’m receiving now. So, after careful consideration, I’ve decided to return!! Go UPS!!

Anyone, so who were the top last minute portal entrants?
Graduate transfer can still enter but other than that no other big names have entered.

I know you don’t want to hear this, but Cal has whiffed this off season big time by playing the wims of his 18 year old recruits and their families. I suppose the biggest positives from the off season so far is Bradshaw didn’t decommit (so far) and Livingston didn’t transfer.

With a portal of transfer as rich as this one was hits, and the biggest positives are 2 players who didn’t rescind their previous commitment to their original school, it’s not going too hot. Hopefully that changes and we add some experienced talent.

11 with him putting 2 walk ons on scholarship.

And this is why Cal is a clown.Teams like Arkansas trying to fill every roster spot while Cal gives his to trash.
11 is plenty. The quality of the depth is more important. I like the '12 team as deep because guy who came in all could play in the top 7.

It's very hard to get minutes for 13 guys. If you want to argue that Kentucky should take some projects and RS them--I can see your point. But you have more talent coming into the program and Lottery level talent needs to be playing 32-35 mpg since you have them 1 yr. This team is deeper than last year's team in terms of talent--now they have to produce but you figure you go:

Ugo
Adou
Reeves
Keshad Johnson
Transfer Big man
Bradshaw
DJ
Rob
Justin Edwards
Reed
Transfer shooter possibly?

I mean how many can you play in the course of a 40 minute game? If your argument is injuries...get that but that's 2 spots short and my own take. Maybe they do add someone else. It's just hard to sell a guy on coming to a place that has people who are going to play ahead of you.

They'll add a transfer big IMO and think they are trying to get a shooter to come in. They reached out to that Marshall transfer who is from KY--so that should make many happy. Now does he want to come to play for UK?

I'd speculate they get 11-if you think 9, then we'll see how it ends up.

He committed to Miss State.

See-he sought minutes and playing time. Onto the next guy who is a shooter type. But minutes are hard to sell to players who want them and know you have a lot of incoming FR talent coming into the program.

But that would be type of additions I'd expect.

If Cal doesn't get a center better than Ugo it will be another long, shitty season.
