Wiltjer only transferred out of necessity. He knew Julius Randle was on the way. You can't blame him, but I often wonder how a 4 out offense would have worked with Randle and Wiljter in the same frontcourt.

Kid loved being a Cat. Gave valuable minutes on a champ team and was a great teammate. Will always be a favorite!
Great kid, I always believed Cal may have " suggested" he transfer because of who we had coming in the next year and Cals plans for them. He was a player on a title team here, nuff said, If your a UK fan
I still like Wiltjer, he filled his role very well, became a great player for the Zags, and still has much love for the Cats. Plus he helped bring us a NC so he’s always welcome as a Cat in my book.
Pretty well IMO, that team probably would have been put over the top having him help and his shooting. He was really good as a Junior.
I wish we could have had a chance to see Wiltjer play in the more modern offense we are running now. I think he would have thrived in this offense, as he did at Gonzaga. I would have also played zone more to help him out on the defensive end of the court. The guy was a great college basketball player and sometimes I wish we had adapted our approach to better take advantage of his strengths and minimize his weak areas.
