Kevin Doyle Appears To Be New QB Target After Jarren Williams Decommitment

Physical guy with a big arm and a 4.7 40 but not a DT. Would be a really nice pickup for the CATS if we can close the deal on him.

Doesn't really do anything that jumps out at you but looks like a pretty respectable prospect. Actually has a slight rating edge over Williams according to 247. Of course, Williams hasn't gotten the "UK decommitment bump" from Rivals yet. Definitely needs weight training. Actually reminds me somewhat of Mac Jones. If you saw Jones in the Bama spring game you saw a guy who was physically mismatched. Doyle, who has a respectable offer sheet, would need a RS.

Would be a great pick up after the Williams decommitt. There arent too too many high caliber QBs left that we have a realistic shot at and Doyle would be at the top of that list. He has really good arm strength and good size. He likely would get to 200-205lbs by the time he got to UK. Hes got a good offer list. Some of the schools that have offered seem to make a living off QBs like Doyle who arent 4-5*s but end up being really good. Michigan State, Indiana & Pitt all seems to end up with really solid QB play most years and its never from top end QB recruits.

Besides schools you mentioned also has offers from Ole Miss and WVU, they like to throw it around too so should be good judges of QBs.

He's much more physical than skinny Mac Jones. In his highlight you see him running over a LB.

I liked Williams because of the Duel threat capability. I believe Johnson did so well in the current system because of his ability to run if need be. This guy might be able to do the same, IDK. hopefully who ever we get will be sufficient when needed.

Williams is NOT a dual-threat QB. He's a pro style QB that can run some, just like 90% of other pro style QB's. You just have to take one look at bigfoot on the left to understand that those feet aren't going to provide blazing speed.

Smile away hope at some point Gunnar plays whoever he picks and lights there ass up for 400 yards.

You make a good point with those feet, pretty impressive foundation though, he should be hard to tip over..

If we could get Doyle on our QB's diet he should gain a lot of strength even if he didn't eat any of it, just lugging it around all day should do the job.

The SJ system wasn't the "current" system Gran/Hinshaw had intended to run but a modified one for Smitty who is a better runner but less polished passer. Doyle would more fit G/H's intentions with Barker - much less wc for one thing.

Naw, I'm talking about a guy that can pull out a 44 Magnum faster than the other quarterback and blow him away - now that's a guy we can win the SEC with. :D

Since they would never be on the field at the same time wouldn't you have to design a special play to get him close to the other sidelines? You wouldn't want an innocent party to get shot like at Louisville-------wait a minute, not sure there are any innocent parties at Transfer U.

This looks like a solid move on the surface. Also, who else is coming out of Cincy St X this year? Bates is from Moeller. Some pretty solid thinking and plotting going on, it seems, and that extends into future years also. We should strive to drive Urban nuts in Cincy.

Fickell is doing just that now with the commit of Malik Vann

Personally, I'm kinda suspicious of pro style quarterbacks at UK and like the ones who can and will run. Makes the offense harder to defend against.

The corny fan "air raid" craze doesn't really fit SEC realism as a plan for consistent success.

Keep the "big arm" only on the bench or better don't even recruit.

Agree, Doyle is a quality quarterback prospect. Has big frame, big arm, and has faced high level competition in high school. Could be a Kentucky-Pitt recruiting battle.

Most commitments stick. It's much better to have a commitment than not. But this is America, where people have choices.

Well sure, but in this case shouldn't we let the UK fans decide where he goes?
