*** Kentucky - Missouri Game Thread ***

He was not bad today. He got pulled after a drive where we had terrible execution (missed block) on 2nd down. His third down throw was not good, but it wasn’t worth benching him over.

And I said this at the time - not just after the comeback.

It wouldn't have been bad to give Hoak a drive, but giving him 3 was a bit much IMO. Had Hoak done well in the first drive then maybe give him another, but he came in throwing and didn't look good. I get it, sometimes you have a nervous guy come in, but in a game of this magnitude it is a bit much to give him multiple drives. Luckily our defense was out of this world today.

Unbelievable win.
Just think, Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, both missisdippi schools and Arkansas are all looking up at UK.
UK has a shot at the SECT game.
UK is 7 and 1.
UK could possibly, maybe get college gameday next weekend
Wow. Great job by Stoops.

So is South Carolina, Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Texas A&M. Everybody but Bama and Georgia is looking up at us.

If you want to critque Wilson because he didn't ever throw it deep then that is fine. However, he did have a good game. In the first half he was 11 for 15 with two of his incompletions being drops by Baker, and that was for 109 yards. He got one drive after the half where he threw 50 percent, one of which was a throw away.

The problem was not that he was playing badly as much as drives were stalling out because of poor play calling and mistakes. Baker drop would have gone for a big play, but he dropped a gimme that was a good pass. Then we did things like run a screen that wasn't blocked properly. We also did the silly wildcat on 2nd and 9 early in the game. Those sort of plays hurt the offense. It was not because Wilson was entirely ineffective as you're claiming.
Yeah, that Baker drop was really bad. That one hurt.

Terry has to work on his timing. He waits too long. Hecwaits for the receiver to make his move and turn before he gets into his throwing motion.
That ball should be on its way before the receiver gets to his spot. That's why his deep ball is so bad.

I just wouldn't have gone with a Terry Wilson pass there, that's a tough play to execute, it worked, but if it didn't, the coaches would be getting slammed by the fans, the media and probably the players.
It was an incredibly gutsy call.

This board goes nuclear anytime anything bad happens, so it would have been a meltdown no matter what if it had failed.

I will agree that Wilson has a lot to work on. Glad he is only a sophomore. There is a lot of technology out there to help him with timing and with getting rid of the ball and reading defenses. Needs to get with a specialist as soon as possible.

Probably the top 5 best endings in a UK football game. Unreal effort by Terry and Co. Also, that final call was really great by Gran. Took serious balls.
For the posters who have been around long enough to remember us getting beat like that it is definatley our turn. Now is not the time to complain about play calls or substitutions it's time to party and enjoy. DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

hopefully that last drive gives TW the confidents to get on track for rest of the season

We won because I wore my lucky shirt
The only game I’ve not worn it was the TAMU game

So I’ll take the game ball now and a beer
TIA
