Kenny Payne is……

The AD will be there due to the Brohm hire for their football program and will definitely get another chance to hire a new basketball coach. Highly doubt that Payne will be around next season unless UofL has a miraculous turnaround this year.

Interesting. Check their schedule. It’s entirely possible that they won’t be favored in any game they play the Rest of the season.

I really thought last night would be it for Payne and ul. I mean, espn was ripping ul and BBN took over the Yum with chants all game. If roles were reversed, I’d want that coach gone after the game.

With all those games Kenny won at UK he deserves a chance to turn it around. I imagine he has a 5 year plan, best to let him see it through.

I will say this.. organizations that continuously churn through coaches, staffs and management.. it usually never fares well. They continue a trend of mediocrity as no one is ever there long enough to get things on the right track. This more so applies to football... but it still tracks here. And if you prove to be a franchise that will fire a coach quickly, you scare a lot of potential coaches away.

Don't think it's the worst thing to keep Payne through the rest of the year, just to see this through. He has shown improvement since last year lolol.

Honestly it makes sense. The whole staff sucks and their fans don't want any of them there so they'd have to fire them all, pay them, scramble for some local makeshift staff with maybe a couple former players and somehow make it through the rest of the season. And parting ways with a coach midseason didn't exactly work so well last time with Mack (they wanted a homerun and got someone who has never been a head coach).

One thing that's funny is they still try to blame the NCAA for the mess Louisville created and on top of that, the NCAA didn't make them hire Mack or Payne. The basketball program would be on solid ground if they'd just make the right call on a coach and not listen to fans who call into local shows and a few former players who lobbied for one of their own to be the man.
