Kansas playing in Puerto Rico

Where do you think you are? Are you dyslexic and misplace the “U” and “K” when googling message boards for your basketball team?

This is a UK anonymous basketball message board. I’m not sure what you were expecting, but we are not kind to our rivals here.

Do you also go swimming in shark infested water and complain when you get bit?
You don’t get it lol. Was joking saying KU fans need to stop trying to play defense. Trying to talk s*** 2-3 days after the fact will make context clues a little tougher I get it:/

Your joke wasn’t funny. Jokes should be funny. Also, hard to tell what’s a joke or not through text, and I did read the thread before posting.

Why do you think this is the place to call KU fans to action? I’m not trying talk anything or get you riled up. I’m genuinely confused why KU fans think this site is for them and get butthurt every time the local population wants them to leave.

You are no different from every other KU poster that has come here. You came here civil, unassuming, and let the locals walk all over you. Then you had enough, got annoyed, and started firing back. The only KU guy I remember skipping the new guy phase was babyinacorner.

It’s seriously not that deep guy lol nobody is butthurt. Just here to have fun and talk hoops. Some sarcasm and jabs never hurt anyone, besides you apparently.

Morris and Harris will eat his lunch. Morris was the number 1 pg in his class and top 15 and played behind 3 of the best guards in college basketball last year. Harris will be the best point guard in college next year, much like he was last year.
Harris the best PG in America? That’s laughable. He wasn’t even top 20.

Yep----Shit FAU returns their Top 6 scorers off a FF team. With that being said, I think that team is waaaaaaaaaaay overrated. They were a tip-in, and really bad call away from losing in the 1st round. They were a 9-seed for a reason.
They just got hot, they will be a 9 seed again by the end of the year. I wouldn’t shock me if they lost in their conference tourney and didn’t make it honestly.

Kansas playing Hield (again) , Eric Gordon, and Deandre Ayton at 11. No beef here just thought I’d share in case anyone was interested in watching hoops on a Monday in august.

Morris was rated as the number one point guard, when you remove the combo guards like Nick Smith, Amari Bailey, Cason Wallace, and Anthony Black. Marcus Carr, Tyrese Hunter, and Jabari Rice were all given lots of accolades for being the best guards in college. 1st team all Big-12 for Carr and 3rd team for Rice. Wow, What competition.

After that lackluster season, seemingly outclassed by superstar guards, 247 had him as the 7th best point guard in the transfer portal and 37th overall, against a worse talent pool than he was rated as a freshman.

Then the Harris comment...crazy. Would Morris even play if Harris is so good?

Don’t even know what you’re getting at with your first paragraph LOL.

He’s going to play the 2, has averaged 13.5 ppg so far in PR. Bill Self unlocks players that are as talented as him.

The guy acted like he's the best transfer guard in college and didn't play because of how good the Texas guys were that played ahead of him. I do love the perimeter defense for Kansas. That will be a crazy game in November. I'd much rather play Kansas later in the year with our guards being so young.

Oh. Evan Miya had Arterio as a top 10 transfer and he’s definitely looked the part this week. Who knows about anything really, it’s august, we all sit here bored and find things to argue about.

Ayton warmed up but not playing. Hield and Gordon are playing.

Believe final score was 87-81 Bahama national team. Buddy Hield and Eric Gordon played the whole game.

They both played 3 quarters and scored 31 pts combined between them.

Will wait to see the minutes on the box score but I’d say they played maybe 20-22 minutes each. In the first game Hield only played 16 minutes.

Played 24-21 minutes each. Full team full of pros. Very impressive outing from Kansas.

Kentucky played a Bahamian National Select Team last season in the summer, featuring many of the same players you guys just played (sans Hield and Gordon)

These players include: Radshad Davis, Kentwan Smith, Jaraun Burrows, Domnick Bridgewater, and Lourawls Nairn. Instead of NBA guys, the Bahamian team Kentucky faced had some notable college players on it, including Kadeem Coleby from Wichita State's 2014 Final Four roster.

Kentucky won that game 98-74.

Be as excited as you want, but that Bahamas team is not as good as you think: trust us. Going against Buddy and Eric is really cool, but it means nothing in the grand scheme - especially with them on a clear pitch count.

They played as many minutes as Hunter Dickinson and 2 other Kansas starters. All there other players were average. Obviously we would win by 20+ if Hield and Gordon didn’t carve us up.

Not to mention KU playing 2 guys that will redshirt and not having our starting SG. I thought they played really well.

Just trying to give you some kind of a warning not to get your hopes up too much over a summer win against the Bahamas. I say that only because we've been there - recently, too. It can be a depressing trap of sorts.

Oh definitely not. We beat the PR team by 30 something on Thursday and am really glad we played against some elite level competition these last two games. First game was awful to watch.

Yea, that's what we thought last summer too. Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and a scrub team from Mexico, followed by a seemingly good Bahamian team...

They sat the entire fourth quarter, and you guys didn’t out score them without Hield and Gordon. Kind of kills your theory you’d win by 20 if they didn’t play now doesn’t it?!

You watch the game? We had 3 bench warmers playing in the 4th until the 5 minute mark.

I wouldn't say pretty large- we will be underdogs but I would guess +3.5ish, maybe?

Also, we were underdogs when we last went into Lawrence and that seemed just fine for a 20+ point win.
3.5? I’d bet it’s 7 or more. Couldn’t care less about prior match ups.

I will bet you $1,000 right spankin' now that the opening line will be nowhere close to 7 hahaha.

Not sure you understand how lines work or how big of a spread that would be for a borderline top-10 matchup on a neutral floor. You are dreaming if you think that.

Even if the game was in Lawrence, it STILL wouldn't be 7.

Between 3 and 3.5 is almost certainly where it'll be, and it wouldn't surprise me if the betting trends moved it closer to 2.5 by tip-off..

For reference, the line last year between #4 ranked Kentucky and an unranked Michigan State team on a neutral floor was also 7. Not a borderline top-10 matchup vs. a Kentucky team with 4 first-round picks and probably 2 second-round picks, PLUS Mitchell, Sheppard, Reeves, etc.

Dreaming.

That dude gets on here calling people homers in his own words. Lmao. Dude, go look in the ****ing mirror.

I come here to chat with other UK fans, not KU fans. Wonder if they really are that pathetic or they accidentally clicked UK instead or KU? 😁

Earlier in the thread I said that this years Kansas team would take a step back from last years team and they acted like I was the biggest idiot in the world. Considering last years Kansas team was a 1 seed and they lost their 2 best players and their entire bench, is it that crazy of a prediction? They're really drinking the Hunter Dickinson kool-aid over there

I guess Kool Aid is better than what they normally drink. 🤷‍♂️😂
