JULY LIVE PERIOD '22 6-10th and 20-24th

In what had to be the fastest 2nd Half in AAU History or Nike screwing up and assuming the 3rd Quarter was end of game in the stats...CP3 apparently won 75-58 over Vegas Elite.

Robert Dillingham ended up with 13 pts, 3 rebs and 3 assists on 3-7 FG, 2-3 3pt, 5-5 FT.

GG Jackson back with them is biggest difference. They've been one of top teams when full strength and the most fun to watch so far this EYBL so that should carry over the rest of this event.

Kentucky's KT Turner watched John Bol to evaluate him as UK is looking at a lot of the '24 bigs to see where their board stacks up going into the Fall-with '23 about wrapped up with big men. Calipari said before Thiero committed that they were "way ahead on '23 recruiting" and he's not lied about that.

Bol had rough showing in front of Turner. His team (MoKan) won but he was 0 pts, on 0-6 FT and 3 rebs and 2 blocks in 17 mins.

Jason Asemota had 20 pts in loss this afternoon at 16U level. Along with his 20 pts he had 5 rebs.

Shot 6-16, 6-12 3pt, 2-2 FT.

HIs teammate is a guy worth keeping an eye on, fellow '24 recruit Aidan Sherrell a big. He had 23 pts and 14 rebs and 2 blocks on 8-12 FG, 1-1 3pt, 6-8 FT.

Jalen Shelley is a name to watch in '24 as he's giving up FB and focused on basketball and has seen his recruitment skyrocket. Won't be surprised to see Kentucky keep tabs on him. He's playing with an Aussie who UK has contacted in '24 class named Klairus Amir. They both play for Pro Skills (Cason Wallace's old AAU team) 16U team. Shelley had 10 pts and 7 assists as a 6'8 guard/forward.

In non UK news--UNC commit Simeon Wilcher left NY Rens 17U team to play for Albany City Rocks. Interesting move as he played up on Rens last year on their loaded 17U team as a Jr. Was on their team through first 3 sessions too. Maybe he switched last session but thought he was still with them.

Initial thoughts on Bradshaw…he’s a giant out there. Not much else has stood out early. Duke dude will shoot a ton on this team with DJ out it feels like.
It's been interesting but the 2 games DJ Wagner has not played with this team they get run off the court. Ron Holland and now Justin Edwards are dominating the game against Mgbako.

Bradshaw's been alright--he's 3-4 but only has 4 FGA's because Mgbako makes every game about himself and he can't shoot.

The Scholars guards are terrible right now too. Ahmed Nowell is playing well for Team Final too.

Boring game and low scoring.

KT Turner there for Kentucky so Cal/Chin Coleman must be down in Atlanta or over at Adidas Event in South Carolina.

Scholars shot 2-12 from the free throw line…that is less than ideal!

Some of the grotesque numbers from Team Final's 55-34 win.

Justin Edwards had a nice game with 14pts, 4 Rebs 3 assists, 1 block and 4 steals.

Aaron Bradshaw ended up with 8 pts 5 Rebs, 1 assist and 1 block with 6 TO's

Mgbako 4-15 FG and 1-6 from 3pt line. He's close to 10% from 3 in the EYBL. The 2 games he's been the best prospect for Scholars they've been smacked around.

The Scholars were put together to showcase DJ. Won’t surprise me if they disband if DJ moves to Kentucky for his senior year and Bradshaw goes to IMG or Montverde.
They have other guys in the system right now including one of the top young players in country

Yeah Fall didn’t even jump lol. I like Reed game though .

I meant to ask you who do you view as the better player Ian Jackson or Tre Johnson ?
I'm a huge fan of Ian, but Tre Johnson putting 37 on Cason Wallace last year was as impressive as it gets. I mean Wallace locks up guys and a Soph in HS dropping near 40? Special.
