Judge rules NCAA can't enforce multi transfer rules for now

This isn’t going to be a good thing, Memphis got the injunction for Wiseman. Hope the NCAA rules them ineligible for the tournament if the play the player. We won’t do anything but wait on them about Z

This is the problem with courts....why the heck can't NCAA restrict multi transfer rules....this is silly.

What if a dude is pissed and wants to transfer to Duke if their PG were to get hurt adn play immediately....why not let him come and go?

NCAA has to have rights to establish these rules for the good of the sport.

I find this ridiculous. If this can't be upheld then just disband the NCAA because it means there can't be any enforcement of standards. I fail to see how yearly free agency with no salary cap is somehow going to make college athletics great.

I love the athlete's argument here that they are losing out on NIL and sponsorships by having to sit. Well, maybe you wouldn't have to if you didn't already sign with school A, transfer to school B, and then immediately want to play at school C in the span of 3 seasons. No sympathy on that front.

We seem to be in an era where anything and everything is on the table. Some schools abide by NCAA rules and some do not. As you say it is becoming more and more unclear what the NCAA can and can't enforce.

When the NCAA backed away from the UNC academic fraud issue the ball started rolling downhill for the NCAA. NIL only made matters worse by introducing uncontrolled money into college sports

So the NCAA can't keep Johnny Superstar from transferring from E. Podunk to W Podunk and then to Duke, fine and dandy, but when he plays for Duke they become ineligible for conference and post season tournaments. Problem solved

Totally agree! And well stated.

How a court delves into this stuff is to be honest.....shows how absurd our court systems have become.

It reminds me a lot of how our local KHSAA has been neutered on this too. They render a transfer ineligible, parents take it to court, court imposes an injunction, and the kid plays anyway. It's ridiculous. Either we let governing bodies set rules for membership or we don't.

And if this stands, I guess a 3rd transfer is allowed? What about a 4th? It's like where does it end.

I know academics has never been a top priority for some of these guys either BUT I think all this movement is worse for kids long term. No way you'll graduate hopping around like this.

Let the 1 free transfer exist and let kids get another if they graduate early to incentive getting a degree. That's where it should be, barring a school losing its coach or getting sanctioned.
