John Wall looked really good tonight as Wizards defeated Spurs.

He missed some perimeter shots, but was brilliant as a playmaker with 13 assists and only 1 turnover.

He also had 17 points and 4 steals. Beal came through with 25 points.

If Beal can become the player so many expect him to become, the wizards would have a real threat in the backcourt with Wall and Beal. I think Beal is a pretty good player, but i'm just not sure if he will ever take that next step and become one of the best 2 guards in the game. John Wall needs this to happen more than anyone. Wall is at that level, now it's just the waiting game to see if Beal ever makes it there.

Not only did Beal come through with 25 points ... that included the game winning 3 with 0.3 seconds left on the clock of a tie game. Clutch shot. I think Beal is taking that next step this year. He looks great.

Wall was Wall. Stud.

The PG spot is the deepest in the league, but Wall is as good a "pure" point as anyone besides CP3.

Wall is one of the rare point guards in the NBA that plays good defense. He's directly responsible for taking away points from the other team with a block or two EVERY GAME. He doesn't get enough cred for his D.

82 games means that nobody, Wall included, will D up every possession. But in a close game in the fourth, the guy turns it on.

I love the fact that Wall is a freak of nature playing point guard in the NBA and could be a better scorer if he wanted to focus more on scoring. Instead of worrying about scoring, Wall is a pass first type of point guard and would rather get everyone else involved than himself. Wall also plays D. I know that shouldn't be something you have to brag on, but nowadays it seems D aint too worried about and teams would rather just out score the other team so when i see Wall play elite D on someone, i love it. John Wall is a gamechanger and so fun to watch play.

Yeah that's the thing. When you're a pass first-score second guy and you're still averaging 17-19 a game, you're doing pretty well.

We'll see how the season pans out...but if Wall and Beal carry that squad to another middle spot in a still down Eastern conference...that will be a very good milestone (even if it is completely overlooked in NBA landscape.)

-Wall and Beal in backcourt
- Otto Porter is turning into a solid all around SF (losing Pierce puts all SF on Porter now)
- Nene is off bench/Humphries...that is a really down PF spot
- Gortat is aging role player C

But Wiz have done Wall no favors wtih that supporting cast. I think they are loading up to make a max contract run at Kevin Durant.
