I can't r call all of it but stronger words could not have come from a UK Fan . And he played for them.

I may not be entirely correct on this, but I think there's a sizeable portion of Denny's former players who are not enamored at all with Jurich and how he treated Denny. I think JE is in this camp.

Many of your younger fans don't even know who Denny Crum was. Only that his name is on the court. Crum built that program. Crum left UCLA to come to UL to be their head coach. Won two NCAAT titles there at UL, which is two more now than Porntino did for UL. UCLA tried to get Crum to come back more than once but he said no. Denny has more class in his little finger than Porntino has in his whole body.

Interesting as unlike many here I am not off the deep-end typically regarding RP or UL. I never will respect RP for what he did in going to UL and love when we beat them, but I don't have quite the emotions some have about them. So, at first without reading the details of the recruit testimony, I felt the punishment made sense. However, now I don't. They should have gotten the death penalty and to appeal anything that the NCAA actually gifted them with I think should result in even harsher penalties. The NCAA gave them no more other season bans,they get to move on this upcoming season, etc?
I know we have a double standard with teenage boys versus girls involving sex. But, to put the young recruits into the compromising and peer pressure situations they faced is disgusting. Some of these kids might have held or been taught religious values, or had someone even at that age they wanted to be faithful toward, or even perhaps not ready or with no experience (and at that age none of us ever wanted to admit to that) and be put into that pressured situation to convince them to come to UL actually seems criminal.

Here is (I think) the relevant bylaw - part (b) in particular. I suppose the committee could be incensed by this, even more offended than the COI (which did say it was "light" on Louisville, meaning went easy on them) and remand this back to the COI with instructions that make it hard for them to do anything but come down even harder. But my guess is the vast majority of the time, they either affirm or reverse.

1/10/95, 1/14/97, 11/1/07 effective 8/1/08, 10/30/12 effective 8/1/13)

The first time I listened to his show was the afternoon the audit findings came out. Everyone should go back and listen to the podcasts of his shows this week, he and his group have just been lighting UofL up everyday. Gotta hurt card fans hearing it from one of their own, but JE has been completely reasonable and makes a perfectly clear argument to anyone who looks at their situation without red stained glasses.

He has essentially called for everyone in a leadership role heads from the athletics department to the board, to start cleaning the place up, and he has been vocal about telling everyone to shut up infront of the cameras and just take the punishment. The appeals committee cannot. They can only rule on the evidence and the penalty already handed down. They are basically just making sure the punishment fits by the rules, which it does. For more penalties there would need to be another investigation after new evidence.

That is the problem with the entire program. Everyone knows where the bones are buried and it affects them all. So for one person to step up would mean they would have to also incriminate themselves. This is not about allegiance to D. Crum. Jerry Eaves is a UofL guy, through and through. However, he is NOT for UofL over his principles. He has the character to separate his school loyalty and what is just plain right. Man was raised by parents who taught him that and he has stayed true to how he was raised.

I was wondering the same about Jurich. It's hard to imagine that he's still the AD at what is arguably the most decadent athletic program in NCAA history. The smug look he has on his face reminds me of some Mafia movie characters.

Logic says the NCAA can't penalize a school for taking advantage of the appeals process spelled out in their rules.
