Jay Bilas on Dan Patrick: G league and NCAA

He actually says Coach K's "blip" comment is wrong.

Also said the way to pay kids is with non-traceable offshore deposits from debit cards.

i hear ya. i wont bother listening to anyone i disagree with. that way...i'm always right about everything.

This. Bilas is just as good as he ever has been, people around here just don't like that he has different opinions other than to close down Duke and UNC.

Was talking to a co-worker of mine who played high Div. 1 football. He said when he was in college, universities would put money on pre-paid casino cards and give them to the players. The players would just go to the casinos and cash the cards to get the cash. This has nothing to do with what Bilas said, just opened this thread and started typing.

HAPPY FRIDAY.

Jay was great. Then unbearable when he was basically pr mouthpiece for unc (his law firm was probably paid well for that).

Maybe he's ok again now that ordeal is over

I wish they'd allow schools to just outright pay players.

No salary cap, just bid within the free market. UK would probably be able to outbid just about anyone.

Or you could keep amateurism with the school but allow them to profit via their likeness through endorsements, etc.

You're the same dude who swore up and down the players didn't get paid, when I proved to you they get paid, you changed your argument to making fun of what they get paid. Maybe step down off that high horse.

The likeness sales would be a can of worms,
A recruit could be told sign here and a booster will buy your autograph for x number of dollars.

If folks don't see this they aren't looking,Bilas and others who support this are only begging for bigger problems.

This clip was reasonable, but Jay Bilas has progressively become a more arrogant shill, in general. I can see how that would appeal to some.
Do you think Bilas really believes some of the stuff he puts out?

My problem with Bilas is that he knows he has peoples attention now and he uses it as a platform to push his agendas, even while calling games. He’s a very good commentator when he wants to be but he feels big enough now that he doesn’t have to be neutral anymore. However the fact that his slant is always toward Duke/UNC/ACC is admittedly what sends him from somewhat irritating to hard to tolerate for me.

Just as good as he has ever been?! WOW lol Youre doing a fine job of ignoring all of his ACC cheerleading rants that he likes to make every week. Jay can be a good analyst at times but he is one of the most biased sports analysts in any sport.

I think he’s sincere about some things, disingenuous about others. He’s a talented lawyer.

I dont think he's sincere about anything really. He is paid millions to lie and push an agenda that's approved by ESPN.

He's no different than Lemon on CNN, he's just an actor.

If people would not look at his swag and his lawyer hollywood smile, and just read his transcripts, you'd call bullshit every time.
