Surprised by this. I thought he was taking the JUCO route as a quicker way to get to the minors. Would be really nice to have him here.
Getting here in time to open new stadium! Hopefully some exciting times for the future of UK baseball.
I presume he's going to play this year at JUCO and have 2 years at UK. Our outfield is just straight stacked.
That's certainly possible. Not sure why hes commit if he felt he could make it to the minors this summer though.
I agree. But I'm okay with it with the recruiting we have now and the outfield we have put together.
They are brothers. Their dad is John Sr. who played in MLB and coached in the Twins organization. Really nice family as well.

Wow he really is struggling. Hitting sub .200 and striking out 164 times in 374 at bats. Interesting that they moved him to the outfield. He played second and third here. Seems like before he left he was just trying to do too much at the plate. Just needed to simplify his swing and get on base rather than always swing for power. Hope he turns it around in 2018.
That was Javon's issue while at UK. He could hit the ball a mile but struck out way too many times. His last year he only hit .212 and struck out 67 times. But he also hit 12 homeruns.
