It was a really long wait from 78 to 96 !!

Just another passive aggressive, meaningless thread.

I don’t give a crap now about 78” to “96”....that was also a disappointing 18 years.

Cal is the highest paid coach in College Basketball. Yep, he’s even higher paid than Shasheski.

Cal needs to adjust his coaching. If he does, he’ll be successful again. If he doesn’t, well, we’ll be fighting to get to Sweet Sixteens and Elite Eights.

Wrong. Coach K is the highest paid coach, Cal is second. Don't be spouting off facts to make your argument unless they are true. #FakeNews ;-) LOL

"Duke head coach Mike Krzyewski makes $8.89 million a year and tops the annual list of college basketball coaches' salaries, which was released by USA Today. Kentucky head coach John Calipari was No. 2 on the list with his $7.45 million after a $1 million increase in salary.Mar 1, 2018"

Only a fool would want cal gone. I do think he will need to adapt to a changing landscape (again).

Do some of you realize how hard it would be to find a coach to take the 340th most three-pointers while guarding the three 340th best?
So you focus on two individual stats compiled from four games to make the case that the guy with one of the top three records in cbb over the past decade needs to go?

Not a stats major, eh?

Needs to go?

Needs to adjust?

You make the call....

Do you think those two stats matter?

When you imply that his skills are not hard to find, you hint at both a willingness to change coaches and the fact that you're serious with that tremendously lacking statistical analysis.

As for whether it matters? Data only matters if it can be extrapolated.

Everything is about n. This is a tiny n. The 2010 team was looking like one of the greatest 3 point shooting teams in UK history inside its first 10 games.

You imply he doesn't need to adapt. Good luck with that.

Hey, if you ever come in for a job interview, just wear a shirt that says "I'm the guy on RR who doesn't understand how sample sizes work" and we'll bump you right up to the front of the line.

To be fair, Dean Smith is a bit overrated. He championed possibly one of the worst offenses of all time (while effective) and he coached MJ. Why it took them so long to implement a shot clock to counter that atrocity I have no idea. And MJ was from NC, he got lucky. He was great by most standards, but not all he’s made out to be by the powers that be.
So. He still only won 2 Championships in 36 years when it was much easier to win a championship.
