It Finally Has Happened

I hate to say it but it's finally happened. I went to every game in the 1994 season where the stellar Bill Curry led us to a 1 - 10 record. I got the witness the 72 - 7 beat down at Florida with Tim Couch attempting to run the option. Yep, I have given up. I have driven from the Nashville Metro area to Lexington and every stadium in this conference up until the latest expansion. I have given to NIL and invested more time and money than I care to remember. I can't watch this shat until serious changes are made. Much like Cal, Stoops time has come to an end.

I will continue to hang around and be a part of the fellowship of the miserable but for the first time in my 58 years I'm turning this TV off and probably won't even check the final score. It's really sad when my local team who has been the true conference celler dweller is having a better season. Vandy beat Bama and is up 17-7 over TN. We are getting our ass kicked by a city college. It's just embarrassing.

We ain't just getting started bro. We are hitting Joker level and it's just sad. With the amount of money we get from the conference every year we CAN afford a buyout. It isn't paid all at once. Suck it up Mitch, admit you screwed up his contract and fire him. I don't know if Sumrall is the answer but I know Stoops and his band of merry men are not.

59 years on this earth. Curci years were my favorite even with all the issues. We need change. I told my brother 22 Vandy game was my last game in Commonwealth. I will stand by that. If we were to get the 2nd coming of Bear Bryant (at his best) as our coach, 2nd coming of Dan Marino at QB, Sanders at RB, Moss at WR and the best O and D line in the history of the sport, I would no go watch live at the game. The only difference is the last couple of years there was no hope of joy in the winter months due to Cal and his sorry brand of basketball. This year we at least can watch some fun and gun basketball.

I kind checked out for the Curry era. I just knew when a coach goes from Alabama to Kentucky in football and the Alabama fans are overjoyed it was a bad hire. UK has made some incredibly bad football hires; being mediocre for a while gets you paid like you're Nick Saban.

We’ve sucked a long long time. Why now?

I haven't been to every game in the last 30 years. In fact outside of the Citrus Bowl, Belk/mayo/whatever the hell it's called bowl, and Music City bowl (30 minutes to parking space at Nissan Stadium) I have only been to Lexington maybe 8 times and Vandy three times in the last 15 years. I have however watched games at home, in bars, on a cruise, and at several all inclusive resorts in the last 15 years. I planned my fall Saturdays around our football schedule. I will not be doing that again until a major change is made.

Never checked Wi-Fi in stadium. Heard it sucked. I know cell coverage is hit/miss but couldn't care less about connectivity during a game.

We have only truly sucked in the last 30 years in 94, Joker's last year, and this year. Post Mumme probation was bad but nothing like these mentioned.

Joker did not have the resources that our current coach has and he also wasn't making 9 million a season to suck. He sucked for a lot less. With the money that this coach is making we should never have a season like the one we just had. He completely lost the team and I'm not sure that he ever had them after his little stunt at the end of last season with TAMU.

The sad part is Vandy has reasons for bad seasons. 90% of the athletes in our conference can't even get into Vandy. They do have a huge endowment and a lot of money but they don't have great facilities. They also don't have the land space to build great facilities. Our team does not have either one of these excuses. We have great facilities and we will let an average student in.

Vandy's new coach is a really good coach. I'm afraid our team is going to be behind them for a hot minute and there is zero excuse for that.
