It's going to be interesting and fun playing Purdue, but obviously a meaningless game.

We played an exhibition game last season at Texas to open up their new arena and lost by 30, so either way, I really have doubt about how much will be learned from it.

Meaningless, I agree. However, it’ll show some signs of where your team is kinda at. Just hope no one gets hurt early in games like these.

I definitely agree, it is far better than playing an exhibition against a team that doesn't have any D1 players and is completely overwhelmed, and certainly hopeful for no injuries.

This Arkansas Team could be a very dangerous team, should be a much better deep shooting team than the last few years and should be really outstanding defensively.

It is also a very veteran team. I think I read somewhere that there is 36 years of college basketball experience on the roster.

With all the guards you all got, who do you think is gonna be the one left out, I can’t see muss playing all of them

I hope you beat the brakes off them. I can't stand Purdue. They aren't THAT good, yet everybody kisses their butt like they are God's gift to basketball. Painter ain't proved jack up there yet they are always highly ranked.

I get why Cal gets doubts and our ranking suffers, but man, why does Purdue still get that high and proved about as much? It's mind boggling tbh.

I have no idea, he has normally settled into a 7 or 8 player rotation, but he will also have more options than ever during his time at Arkansas. What I do know, is that when it comes to Coach Musselman, if you don't play defense and rebound, you don't play.

He has stated many times that they allow much more flexibility and freedom on the offensive end than on the defensive end.

I don't think Purdue is that good either, get sick of their lofty rankings, and would love to beat them badly, I just don't think that Musselman will use the game for much more than what it is, simply a practice/exhibition/ scrimmage.

Who do you expect to be Arkansas' best player this year?

I though it would Ellis coming into the year, because he never guarded a soul at Louisville and is high usage In terms of shots for his points

From what I have read from the coaching staff he is a completely different player than he was last season, has been practicing extremely hard, and has played phenomenal all around basketball in the Red/White game and the first exhibition. We shall see.

From what I’ve seen he’s the quickest player on the roster and has been able to get to the paint with ease. It’s probably good that Menifield is redshirting this year because it’s tough finding room for all of these guards already.

I think we will learn more playing Georgetown College and Kentucky State then playing a game against a team that might show us a weakness.

We've learned quite a bit already by playing against 3 solid teams in Toronto at the Globl Jam. Those teams were not Purdue, but they were legit teams.

Regarding Arkansas: Interested to see how all those guards mesh. Very deep backcourt down in Fayetteville.

I also think, overall, their athleticism could pose some problems for Purdue. FDU beat them in the tournament last season because they made Edey defend away from the basket (just like how teams would pick on Oscar). I think Arkansas can kinda replicate that, if they want.

I think that making him defend away from the rim is a big key, but I also think that since it is simply an exhibition game, Coach Musselman will probably try several different schemes with different personnel to see how the players respond.

Edey and Arkansas player (Davis) dive for loose ball and Brazile comes over and tries to start a fight with Edey. Arkansas is a trash program. I wish they would give Brazile what he wants.

Trash coach = trash program. I will never forget when Arkansas joined the SEC 31 years ago; running their mouths how they were the new kids in town and going to "own the SEC"

2 Regular season titles (1992 and 1994) and a whopping ONE SEC tourney title (2000)
