I'd probably rest JR until sec tournament at this point. I'd say ncaa but he would be super rusty then. He probably needs to go back to a key bench role when he returns.
Yeah I didn’t have a problem with Garrison talking trash at the end but you have to do it while running to your side of the bench .
Running into Fears face was pretty wild . Luckily a fight didn’t start . Last thing we need is guys suspended this late in the year .
Shows and the other ref were standing right there. Garrisson needs to pick his moments better for sure
Thank goodness he waited until the buzzer sounded. That’s what Shows and those other 2 were looking at.
However, in his defense, that #14 and Fears were trash talking Brandon and Otega all night. Heck, even ESPN focused on #14 YELLING at Brandon, “You can’t guard me”!! and Ole Shows said nothing and allowed it.
The double standard is RIDICULOUS!!!
I hoped so in the moment, thought maybe they were just checking the clock, but the ESPN broadcast showed the refs at the monitor with the screen visible, and whichever ref was studying the play clearly pointed to the action in the bottom right corner, where Garrison and them were standing. I was so relieved when they called game.
I think it happened at AL as well, one guy wagged his finger in someone’s face… the refs SUCK all around.
That whole last sequence was just pure insanity. Oweh scores that tough basket, he got fouled 4-5 times during the process. Fears goes the length of the court, and he got fouled got fouled by Oweh, and the he gets triple block by Garisson Oweh and Williams. Then BG gets In feats face with 2 refs standing right there, on top of having a beer can thrown at him. The Moore guy and feats were talking shit all game so I’m not mad garssion did it back.
Officials cannot call anything after the game ends……. Or there would technical fouls for court storming
League office covers anything that happens after the game… they can institute player suspensions or in the case of court storming, fines
They can call techs on players after the buzzer rings. Court storming a are something separate
That or in a microwave type roll. Get in get a few points and get out. We could really use him Saturday. Brea will have to pick it up big time as well as Almonor. It will be an interesting game saturday. Butler is needed but cannot do the silly fouls he did last night. This is the first replay game I watched in full. Did not watch live. Butler was gassed a bunch last night, to be expected. Perry held his own. Noah held his own. Oweh, I told you all in the thread earlier in the week. It would be Oweh night in Norman. lol
BG really played great last night, yeah some mistakes but his defense on fears on the switches was impressive. Amari and Brandon was in there together some. Not bad.
If you go back and watch the film, BG looks at the goal on the other end of the court before he retaliates on their players running their mouth. So that says to me that he waited for the game to end before he got in their faces, after the game is over I can’t say I’ve ever seen a technical called so there was no basis for them to ring him up. It was hilarious watching OU players act like they were being held back when BG was right there and they did nothing after the game. I know it was a close call but there was mouthing all 2nd half so what did the refs think was going to happen after the game??
That's my issue with it. OU spent all game talking shit to us. Shows and his crew found no issue with it so then at the end of the game you decided you want to do something about it? Just add to that long list of reasons of why the set of officials the SEC contracts are putrid.
For what? He did nothing while time was left on the clock. He didnt start jawing with fears until well after the buzzer. At that point he could have punched him in the face and it wouldn't have been a technical and free throws. I have seen punches thrown and fights break out in the handshake line and not one tech or free throw was ever awarded in that situation. If they did you would have losing teams that were down by 1 or 2 points trying to goad opposing teams into fights everytime a game ended in hopes of getting the tech free throws.

Injuries are killing the Cats this season. So proud of this group continuing to find a way.
Just hoping we can be somewhat close to full strength when the Tournament starts.
I think we can beat just about anyone in the tournament. Seeding doesn't bother me too much at this point I think we are anywhere from a 3 to a 5.
We should consider resting Jax and Butler till the SEC tournament if not a bit longer.

The refs stated they were looking at the monitor specifically to determine if anything happened BEFORE time expired. Which logically indicates that they can not issue a technical in that case because it happened AFTER time expired.
Yes but only if the infraction occurred before the buzzer sounded. I think you’re both in agreement just ships in the night
That is why we needed him playing. Get back into game shape before the tournament
I just can't see Brea doing much more than he is now. He just can't create his own shot when the defense is really on him tight. He has be wide open to get his shot off. As i have said a few times on here this is why he is not in the NBA. His defense is not that great either. He is just what he is a great shooter.
