I want John Calipari arrested immediately

Really, all of the bitching I'm seeing, is more so do with how we are running offense and executing again. The first 7 games this year we didn't shoot long 2's, we didn't post bigs, and we were shooting more 3's. All great for the offense. Turnovers were down, and we were getting tons of assists.

Last game, 19% of our shots were long 2's. Last year, long 2's were 23% of our offense. We are slowly morphing back into the very same offense we ran last year. We have also only attempted around 20 3's per game over the last 2, and that's gonna put us near the bottom of college basketball in attempts per game.

When you're shooting over 40% from 3 as a team, you need to be taking 30 per game, minimum. Now if a team like Miami wants to run us off the line, and we simply can't take as many 3's, that's fine, because we scored at the rim all night off line drives to the basket, and backdoor cuts.
Yep, and it never ceases to amaze me that Cal's so focused on prepping his guys for the NBA, yet he's lost on what kind of game they play in today's NBA. He for some reason still thinks the NBA is stuck in a 1990s post-up game, when in fact it is mostly a three-point shooting contest, even for the big men.

He's not even prepping his draft picks for the kind of game they will be playing at the next level. He's prepping them for some kind of time machine NBA draft.

I will say, lots of posters blame Cal for every single shot taken in the game. You think Cal is hand-picking every shot that Rob takes? You think Cal chooses every shot that each player takes? Obviously the players have a fair amount of freedom, which is why Rob (and others) will take some "what are you doing?!" type shots.

But clearly Cal doesn't have the Nate Oates philosophy - only 3 shots allowed: at the rim, from 3, and FTs.

Here's something to keep in mind: When UK went to the "stall ball" style against Penn, Penn only had 2 FGs in the last 10 minutes of the game (aside from meaningless layup at buzzer). Kentucky lead went from 4 points to 17 points during the "stall ball" stretch. Kentucky ended on a 20-7 run playing "stall ball".

It's a double-edged sword - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Clearly worked against Penn. Rob (and others) could've chucked up a bunch of quick missed 3s or TOs in transition and given Penn extra possessions, but instead grinded out a much needed win and built some experience executing down the stretch.
That’s what I’m saying. If it works it works, if it’s not working then Cal should change it up to run again. I don’t mind it in games where we get stops or if we have a 20 point lead the last 5 minutes.

I hate Cal but this thread is just weird. Even weirder is the OP keeps bumping this thread like he/she didn't post a weird thread. Like he/she wants the world to see it.

It's a good point, worthy of discussion. There's a reason teams go to "stall ball" with a lead. It's because it often works very well. When coupled with strong defense, which UK was playing late in that 2nd half, it can even increase the lead. The big problem is when you're stalling on offense and giving up quick, open shots on defense. That's a sure way to lose big leads and games.

Agreed - like I said, it's a double-edged sword. It gets far less credit works than it gets criticism when it doesn't work. But certain factions of the fanbase are at the point where they refuse to give credit to Cal for anything, so it is what it is. We have parts of BBN lashing out about how much he slowed the game down against UNCW, but when you compare it to the Miami game (which fans loved), it's practically the exact same tempo and pace
