I used to teach Jeremiah Fears. Tonight will be the first time I ever hoped a student of mine failed a test.

I love Jeremiah, but I hope he goes 0/15 tonight, commits 8 turnovers, and that Oklahoma loses by 20.

It's Kentucky above everything else short of family and God.

Sorry, Jeremiah. I told you when you were in my class that you should go to Kentucky.

By the way, come our way in the portal this spring if you decide you need one more year.

He’s a damn good player. I would love to have him, if he stays in college. Maybe he will think about a transfer if he wants a chance to win big. Didn’t you say he liked UK but we didn’t recruit him much or didn’t have time to because he already committed?

Yes, UK is his dream school but he reclassified after we already took Butler and Kriisa, otherwise I think we would have landed him. I still am upset about that one, because I could have had the best of both worlds, as I do think my personal bias would have catapulted Fears to my all-time favorite Wildcat if he had come here.

Fears' dad made it sound like he's gone on Twitter. He's projected top 20 right now, but I think him jumping after one year will be a mistake. His shot needs work and he's a bit too turnover prone to make an impact in the NBA from day one.

I also know he's buddies with Jasper Johnson. If he came back for one more year, he'd be a first-team All-American and contend for SEC player of the year.

Well he should think about it, but I’d say if he’s projected that high he’s leaving. I just glanced at a couple different mocks and 3-4 had him as high as 11.

I didn't realize you were a teacher! What grade?

He's from Arizona, right? Didn't realize you were all the way out there

I taught him when he lived in Illinois. I'm not going to report the grade due to some of the nut jobs on this website (it's nothing against you). He was a good kid. All of his brothers play basketball. I never taught his older brother, but I did teach Jeremiah and his younger brother Jamari.

And it sure seems like that if a team needs a win or their coach is on the hot seat we oblige them. I sure hope UK decides that Oklahoma needs to lose.
Here's hoping Butler plays tonight and shuts down Fears.
